The Wild Things is about the confusions of a boy, Max, making his way in a world he can't control. His father is gone, his mother is spending time with a younger boyfriend, and his sister is becoming a teenager. Richard Mayhew is an unassuming young businessman living in London, with a dull job and a pretty but shrewish fiancée. Then one night he stumbles upon a girl lying on the sidewalk, bleeding. He stops to help her, and his life is changed forever. Soon he finds himself living in a London most people would never have dreamed of: a city of monsters and saints, murderers and angels. It is a world that exists entirely in a subterranean labyrinth of sewer canals and abandoned subway stations.

  • Divergent

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 11 mins)
    • By Veronica Roth
    • Narrated By Emma Galvin
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

Grant says: "It's not for me. Loved it anyway."
Have you listened to any of Emma Galvin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Any additional comments?

I liked this a lot, it really kept me listening, and hating when it was time turn it off and go into work.....I hope there is a sequel left me wanting more, wanting to know more about Triss...and what will her life become..... interesting ideas about what government could be like.....I would have liked to have had it read with different voices for each person...but it was still very enjoyable to listen to, very much along the same lines as Hunger Games but then again not....very good... i promise you won't be disappointed!

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she's made it out of the bloody arena live, she's still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge....

"Incredible, awesome...just as good as book 1!!!!"
Where does Mockingjay rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    TOP 5 out of 100

What other book might you compare Mockingjay to and why?

The other two Hunger Games books...other than that I have read nothing that compares!!!!

    Any additional comments?

Just one of the best books I have listened to. I sit and think about Cat and Peta and what their life might be like now.... what adventures they and their children are living. I soooo wish there were more books in the series....this was an incredible journey to go on with these characters, I have been late to work, just not wanting to turn it off....I couldn't wait to go to bed, so I could close my eyes and be carried away to the world of the capitol and what was around the next corner. Thanks, I am searching now for my next adventure and can only hope to find one as brilliant and wonderful as these.....

The Adderhead has ordered his henchmen to plunder the villages. The peasants' only defense is a band of outlaws led by the Bluejay - Mo's fictitious double, whose identity he has reluctantly adopted. But the Book of Immortality is unraveling, and the Adderhead again fears the White Women of Death. To bring the renegade Bluejay back to repair the book, the Adderhead kidnaps all the children in the kingdom, dooming them to slavery in his silver mines unless Mo surrenders.

    "BEST YET!"

I have read all three books in the series, all fabulous. This one was a great ending to a eternally great story. The narratorvoice not as good as the first two but still really good, I hope they will make more like these!!!
