Very touching story. Narrators were great too.
Exciting, fun and humorous. It keeps you wanting more and rooting for Owen all the way.
Pessi has written a fascinating mystery with many twists and turns. The characters are very rich and layered, so much so you can clearly see them in your mind's eye. As soon as you think you know where the story's going, BAM-it changes again. I love creepy mysteries, and this one definitely fits the bill. Film actor Jake Weber does a fabulous job as narrator, and could be even pictured as our protagonist.
I raced my way to the end, so excited to see where this roller coaster of a ride would take me. With that said, I can't help but feel ripped off by the ending. After so many ups and downs, the ending seemed too easy and not well thought out. After listening for 23 hours and becoming so immersed in the world Pessi created, I needed an ending that fit the story. It just wasn't there.
My first Peter Clines book. It was fantastic! It's been a long time since I couldn't stop listening to an audiobook. I wanted to know all the answers to all the mysterious questions. Right when things would be intense, Clines would throw some levity into the mix. This book did NOT disappoint!
I throughly enjoy a good creepy tale. Among my favorites would be Stephen King and Dean Koontz. This author did not disappoint. I was so engrossed in the story that I couldn't stop listening to it. I was extremely intrigued as to where it would lead. The story does fluctuate between past and present, which I count as a plus as it kept me in constant suspense. Due is a fantastic author! I look forward to her next audiobook.
I was so bored listening to this one. Even towards the end where the "action" is was awful as well. Waste of a credit and a waste of my time.
I found this book highly entertaining. It had so many elements of the genre, including a good amount of humor. I'm not a Star Trek fan, but I was still able to appreciate "the humor." Quite simply put, it was just downright great! If you have read the Scott Sigler books, there is most definitely a connection with zombies from this book and the characters in Sigler's Infected and Contagious. However the book was so fun, I just didn't care.
After reading the first novel, I looked forward to reading the second one. It proved to be even better. Of course I was REALLY excited for the end of the trilogy. That's when I found out the 26 year old author died recently. I am hoping with the hit that this story is someone can come in and finish up the storyline in a way that would make Recht proud and give closure to his readers.
I listened to this only on the recommendations of other audible members. It turned out pretty good. It took me a little while to get into it, however once you do it's definitely worth it. If you like this one then you'd really enjoy Patient Zero.
No. It's not another Twilight wannabe. It's more like the Supernatural TV show and cross it with Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV show and then sprinkle a little Twilight on top. I ended up getting each book in the series. Can't wait for the next one!
Great story! I love horror stories and this is definitely one of them. Warning: it is VERY graphic. Also make sure you listen for changing character POV. It does change back and forth a lot, so if you're not paying attention you might get confused.
