Are men literally born to cheat? Does monogamy actually serve women's interests? These are among the questions that have made The Moral Animal one of the most provocative science books in recent years. Wright unveils the genetic strategies behind everything from our sexual preferences to our office politics - as well as their implications for our moral codes and public policies.

I was absolutely amazed that a theory of origin could so succinctly describe and explain the rationale for modern human behaviour. I am a born skeptic but, this work is very good. What a beautiful gift it was to learn from this book the true nature we hide from ourselves and by knowing, to gain power over it. Reading this book was an exercise in liberation. As some skeptics of evolution have said, "the truth will set you free" and so it does.
To make the information more readable and to explain his points, the author brings in stories from Darwin's life from his love for his wife to his devout faith in god. This does makes the book less academic and more personal. The narration was very well done and easy to listen to.

This book is my attempt to address all the variables that create good sleep in children. I have spent my career researching sleep and helping families all over the world with their children’s sleep. No two sleep consults are exactly the same because there are a lot of variables. There is no one-size sleep solution that fits everyone. I advise you to start with the age of your child and meander through other topics as you proceed. I encourage you to jump around. Along the way, you will create your own personalized solutions.

    The narrator was fine.

    Any additional comments?

At first I thought this was useless because it did not have enough detail. I got it because the authors other book wasn't available on audible. I soon came to know how helpful this really is! Health sleep habits healthy baby (HSHHB) is the BEST book I have read on the sleep & eat habits of babies (and I have read Ferber, Ezzo, and more). HSHHB is a game changer & had my kid sleeping 6 hours at night at week 6 and 11 hours by month 2. Naps are regular and predictable. I never have to wonder if the baby is hungry or tired or needs a diaper change. It is apparent from the schedule. Its super predictable and gets me in charge of my schedule too. the pediatrician was surprised that the kid is actually getting the high side of the required sleep amount and the hardly ever fusses or cries. Believe me, that is not just a 'personality' thing, I happen to be familiar with the DNA in that kid so I can guarantee it is not just 'luck'.HSHHB was great but it is a long book with lots of disorganized content. The book will get you through the first couple years. When the baby is 6 weeks old and you are sleepless you could care less about when naps should be for a 6 month old and you don't want to re-read the whole book every month when the nap schedule changes. That is where sleep consult comes in. Just go right to the chapter for the baby's age and he tells you what to do. It's a perfect companion to HSHHB.These two books are the most useful I have read and have rewarded me with much happiness and sleep. I highly recommend HSHHB and if you decide to implement it, get sleep consult too

An enchanting historical epic of grand passion and adventure, this debut novel tells the captivating story of one of India's most controversial empresses, a woman whose brilliance and determination trumped myriad obstacles and whose love shaped the course of the Mughal Empire.

    Story

At this time in Europe, a woman was the Queen of England but, in the Mogul empire, women could not earn money or own property. They were nothing without their husbands and they were required to give them children. A husband was often chosen for them and sometimes they could not even see their husband before they married.

This is the story of the marriage of a common woman in Hindustan, the daughter of a Persian refugee, to the Mogul Emperor. She had dreamed of marrying him since she was a little girl and he was a prince. This educated common woman saw that the only way a woman could have freedom and be self sufficient was to be in the royal harem. She won the love of the emperor prince but the emperor (his father) had already promised her to a man she had never met. The importance of propriety and honor in society prevented their families from calling off the arranged marriage for something as unimportant as love.

This was a riveting story of unrequited love in a time where women had no power or influence. It is also a sad story of a woman who was too intelligent to simply fulfill the duties of wife to a man she did not love.

The most interesting thing about this book is that, although the intimate details of their lives are fictional, it is rooted in historical fact. You can get a glimpse of the splendor and beauty of the Mogul Empire. I am not sure if the dates given in the book are in the christian or islamic calendar but, you can roughly match the events to western events with which we are more familiar.

In a world of conflicted loyalties, rapidly diminishing human power, and the possibility that anyone can be a spy, what's at stake is nothing less than human freedom's last hope to survive the technology revolution.

James says: "wow - a must read"
    "Another amazing book from Suarez"
    Overall

This sequel shines; it is as technologically plausible as the first book was and it was absolutely thrilling. The ending was fantastic and you are left with a proper sense of justice at the finish.
This book brings the story started in Daemon to a close but, somehow I still want to hear more about the daemon darknet.

Thousands of autonomous computer programs, or daemons, make our networked world possible, running constantly in the background of our lives, trafficking e-mail, transferring money, and monitoring power grids. For the most part, daemons are benign, but the same can't always be said for the people who design them.

Erica says: "Possibly The Best Techno-thriller Ever"
    "Wow!"
    Overall

This is a great story and has a good foundation which makes every part of the story plausible even if you are well studied in current technology. In fact, the more familiar you are with technology, the more you will probably like it. It covers technology, gaming, politics, social issues, secret spy stuff and hackers; what else can you possibly ask for?
This story is so captivating I had to grab the second book "Freedom TM" right away. I blew through it in a few days. Mr Suarez, we are going to need a third book please.

A global timequake is scheduled for February 13, 2001, says Kilgore Trout. But instead the universe backs up a decade to 1991, giving everybody a severe case of déjà vu. In what is said to be his last novel, Kurt Vonnegut is along as a character in, and brilliant chronicler of, this bizarre event.

If you've run out of Vonnegut works to read and you are starving for more, check out this book. It has a lot of Kilgore Trout stories and much more from the mind of Vonnegut. He was a brilliant man and his ideas are worth reading, however this book is much more reminiscence than a story about a timequake. ting-a-ling
