Unable to commit to his fiancée of nearly four years - and with no clear understanding of what’s holding him back - Andrew McCarthy finds himself at a crossroads, plagued by doubts that have clung to him for a lifetime. Something in his character has kept him always at a distance, preventing him from giving himself wholeheartedly to the woman he loves and from becoming the father that he knows his children deserve. So before he loses everything he cares about, Andrew sets out to look for answers.

Would you listen to The Longest Way Home again? Why?

I enjoyed this book, athough it came across as a little "self absorbed" at times, which I suppose is typical for many famous people. Andrew did a very nice job in the presentation and the story itself was unique and well worth the time. If you like biographical material, then you will find this one worth a listen

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

Would you consider the audio edition of Water for Elephants to be better than the print version?

I thoroughly enjoyed this audio book, and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes a good story. Great skill in the narration, with both gentlemen totally selling their version of the younger / older character.

Probably the best audio book to which I've listened.
