I liked that Gregor was dealing with the reality of being torn between two places. I also love that the main characters are loyal to each other.
When you find out that someone is or is not dead. I don't want to give up a good part of the story.
The different voices that he uses are very entertaining.
Definitely! The entire family has listened to the book. 11 years old to 60 years old.
As a parent I search for books that we all can listen to. It is rewarding to find a series that we can share. The conversations that go on about the book have been fascinating. The fact that we have something in common to talk about is great. My husband is always behind us in the book and he often listens in the car after we are done with the book. He is not a big reader but is always asking, what's next?
Yes. It was very entertaining and funny, I had times where I could not stop laughing.
Rosie and Dr Tillman together were a combo. The couple, did what the individual could not. The individuals would not bend. The couple was adventurous.
His performance was outstanding. He came across with the dry flat responses as required. I found myself laughing out loud at many times.
What are the odds we can find out who done it, who is doing it and who should be doing it?
Crazy good book that makes you think about times when you didn't do things when you were uncomfortable. What fun did you miss out on? As an alternate view, the professor that doesn't have a no button and thinks it is perfecty acceptable.
very busy book
The narrator was horrible! Sometimes he was very mechanical and read without feeling. I could not follow the book at times since the narrator was so bad.
Listen to the narrator before you pay him. This guy should pay you to listen to him read!
This book ranks at the lower half of the books Iwe have listened to
You never knew what was going to happen next. That was both good and bad. It was almost haphazard.
I didn't think so, but when we were done my kids 11 year old boy and 14 year old girl asked if we could buy the next book.
I am buying the next book to see if I like it better. The story line is all over the place.
Yes, I would not have finished the book if I had to read it. David Hyde Pierce was fantastic!
I actually ended up hating this book. As a kid you only hear of part of the story. This was not kids book and I thought the ending was disturbing, although it may have been valid.
When Davis Hyde Pierce is reading you get the full experience of the emotions involved from Gulliver"s prospective. I do wonder how he figured out how to say some of the words.
I was moved at Gulliver's mistreatment all through the book. I guess so was Gulliver based on the ending of the book.
I am not sorry that I got this book, but I really disliked the story. I was hoping for a nice fairy tale. Wow! So much craziness going on in this book.
Perseverance, Loyalty and Honor
When they met the guy in the forest. I cannot remember his name. I loved his songs.
I like the way he reads. He fits the book.
oh, no! Sometimes there was so much going on that you needed the break just to figure it all out.
I enjoy reading and listening to The Fellowship of the Ring because there was so much that they could not fit into the movie (and the movie was GOOD!). Things that I found interesting. Some wacky little tidbits like, how many people were at Bilbo's birthday party? I may not remember it tomorrow, but I enjoyed it today.
It was one of the better books that I have listened to.
I can only compare this book to the other Jodi Picoult book that I have listened to, House Rules. In both books, one character is protecting another character. I enjoy the twists and turns. I found that both stories kept me interested so much that I couldn't wait to get back to the story.
She put feeling into the words of the characters.
Josie was way too accepting of Matt's behavior. I wonder how Alex could have allowed Josie so much freedom.
Do not judge. That is one of the themes of this book. The book takes everything you thought God and the trinity was and throws it up in the air. They return to you in ways that you would believe and ways you would not.
When Mac sees his daughter for the first time in a year. He is comforted by her happiness.
It was well read with the proper thought and emotion.
When Mac realizes that his other daughter feels like the tragedy is her fault.
I have seen many reviews of people that did not like this book and many of people that loved this book. This book is meant for you to step out of preconceived ideas and revisit your beliefs. I think it strengthened my beliefs and challenged me not to be as judgmental. People see what they see, because of what they have lived.
There were many opinionated character in this book. Some you could embrace and some you would dismiss. The stark differences was entertaining.
I think Dawsey was my favorite character because he was in love and had no clue what to do.
The narrator kept the story interesting.
I think Isola would be an interesting dinner date. She appeared to be a very honorable person and the conversation would be good.
This book was an incredible illustration of the good and bad of war. Despite what people believe about the enemy, there are good people among them. Elizabeth must have been an unbelievable person.
I would read this book again because there were parts of this book that I missed. I actually went to Sparksnotes to confirm that I heard it correctly. I did. It was Dickens and the way he wrote. Knowing that the book was written as a serial made it more intriguing.
When the prisoner switch took place. No, when Madam Defarge was killed. It was very exciting and I remembered why I loved this book in High School.
Dr Manette was my favorite. Even with his fragile mind he stepped up for his daughter and her family, a true hero.
I really enjoyed the part where Miss Pross killed Madam Defarge. Miss Pross protected Lucy because she loved her. I think Madam Defarge was just interested in vengeance, not really due to loyalty to her family. It may have started out as loyalty but went too far.
I read this book in High School and enjoyed it. I questioned my opinion when the reading started. Shortly into book two I was hooked. When the book was finished I missed it.
