Whether meeting a new client or bumping into a potential mate, you only have a few seconds to make a favorable impression. Is that really possible? Author Nicholas Boothman, a lecturer and licensed master practitioner of neurolinguistic programming, believes yes! He introduces a revolutionary approach to face-to-face communication that will help anyone succeed at making meaningful, and immediate, connections.

    "Definitely Worth IT"
    Overall

Easy to listen to with good advice. I tried some of the techniques after listening, and they worked well. I had heard about NLP before listening; this audio-book is a short but useful introduction to the field.

Jesse Stone has a problem. Actually, several problems: dead bodies turning up, and no clues. Investigating a serial killer in an affluent suburban town is difficult, and dangerous, and with the added pressures from the media, the heat is turned up on Jesse. He's spending too much time with the bottle - and with his ex-wife - neither of which helps him, or the case. And the harder these forces push against him, the more Jesse retreats into himself, convinced that it's up to him alone to stop the killing.

Bram says: "Most dispassionate narration, predictable plot"
    "Have to Agree"
    Overall

I quite enjoyed the story, even though a little predictable, but like just about everyone else has written, the 'he said/she said' is really irritating. First time I had read anything by this author, and I'm not sure I'll try another one.

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

This was the first time I'd read this author, and can only agree with the other reviews. I thought it was a fantastic book - loved the story, the narration was excellent, and I couldn't wait to get to my next listening opportunity.

  • The Time Traveler's Wife

Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was thirty-six. They were married when Clare was twenty-three and Henry was thirty-one. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future.

Herve Bronnimann says: "My Favorite Audiobook so far"
    "I liked it..."
    Overall

This was one of those books I found excuses to listen to. Interesting premise, and just a bit different. The moving back and forward through time was occasionally confusing, but it all seemed to come together nicely at the end. In the grand scheme of things, worth a listen.

Debbie says: "Heartwarming Gift of God's Love and Mercy"
    "Average"
    Overall

For me, the plot was too predictable, and the language just a bit too sentimental. Almost from the first couple of chapters, you knew exactly what was going to happen, and it did. Narration was good, but didn't compensate for the plot.

Looking for Alaska is Peter's account of eighteen months spent traveling over twenty thousand miles in tiny bush planes, on snow machines and snowshoes, in fishing boats and kayaks, on the Alaska Marine Highway and the Haul Road. Hearing and living the amazing stories of many Alaskans from Barrow to Craig, Seward to Deering, and everywhere in between, Peter gets to know this place in a way that only he can.

Wonderful story-telling style and riveting stories. It's hard to stop listening to them, even when I arrive at work in the mornings! I'm going to Alaska this summer, and this book has let me learn a little more about what to expect. A great 'read'.
