Captivating Good Read
Although the plot was very familiar it had a few twists to it that kept you interested...
The hero - Matt Keelock was my favorite -
It is difficult in Louis L'Amour's books to side with anyone but the main character - in this case Matt Keelock.
Like all of his writings Louis L'Amour does a great job of describing the wild west - I'm a horse rancher in Canada's desert country and enjoy the realism of his characters and their surroundings.
This is by far the absolute best book that I have ever listened to so far.....(I am a long time member with over 100 books in my library.....
Toss up between Frans and Charlie - but more Frans
Several parts during the air battle with Frans and Charlie - but the ending moved me to tears.. I listen while driving and I just about had to pull over it was becoming difficult to see the road...
The historical facts opened my eyes to the fact there is a big difference between German soldiers and the Party members.... I'm from Dutch descent and up until now I had not realized how much Germany suffered under Hitler's reign.
Never read the book - loved the audio edition!
Yes indeed! The plot was living emotion, it was so well written that I found my self driving further and slower (I listen to the audio while I drive) This was an intense novel.I was disappointed when I finished the book - definitely will purchase more by this writer.
Very tough question to answer There was Scott James the main human characterMaggie his K-9 partner (I liked her so much I wanted to buy a German Shepherd. And I know its strange but I really liked the tough K-9 Unit Sargent Dominique Leland
Yes, it was that captivating....
First book by this author - I was very impressed. Have looked for more to purchase.
Worth Listening To
The narrator - he captivates your attention with his voice. Very easy to listen to.
There were many times I said,
Very thought provoking and extremely insightful. I've listened to it more than once. Found my self driving slower so I could hear more of the book. Bottom line about any book is the hope you will find at least one gem in among all the words.... Just Listen was the mother lode - packed full of gems.
Within the first few minutes of this audio book the author said, "He said" so many times it took away from the story line - My gosh it was irritating... it got to a point where I was turned off from the rest of the book - what a waste of money....
