This book was a little slow at first, probably because it is a first in the series. Once it got started it was great. One of the best Linda Howard books ever. She did a fabulous job with this one. Keep listening if you think it is slow at first. It gets better.
This was one of the worst audio books I have listened to and I am not that picky. The story line was okay. It was much cheesier than I expected and I like a little cheesiness. The worst part was the narrator. It seemed she couldnt keep her voices straight and she would emphasize words that did not need to be emphasized. I doubt that I will listen to anymore of this series or read more from the author. The narrator killed it for me.
This is one of the better books that I have read- especially for a memoir. Because of this compelling story of overcoming your upbringing, I would recommend this book to anyone who has had struggles or difficulties in their life. Walls truly shows that each person has his or her own power to determine their destiny.
