Hearing the story from different points of view made it more enjoyable to listen to. It was a little predictable, but that wasn't really a problem. This book had some authentically hilarious moments.
Any scene at the hotel. I laughed out loud during some of them.
I would actually recommend this book to others. I haven't read any of Sophie Kinsella's other books, but I think this was a cute read with some genuine characters. The story moved well and even though it was a little predictable, there were some great surprises. It was a nice light listen and had characters with some dimension.
It picks up right where Divergent leaves you. This book is full of action from start to finish. What an interesting story line. I just finished and am gutted the next book isn't out yet. So much coming!
She's the best narrator's I've heard on audible so far.
This is definitely in the top 3. The story isn't action packed, so if that's what you are into, you won't find it here. But you will be reeling from start to finish. A LOT happens and it's a lot to take in. Excellently written and performed.
This book made me gasp several times. It's somewhat shocking, but very timely and relevant to today's society. You find yourself completely engrossed in this woman's life.
If you're pregnant or about to have a kid...you might not want to listen to this.
This book has it all. Action, great story line, interesting multifaceted characters, etc.
There is not one slow part of this story. You are invested from the beginning and the descriptions are fantastic.
She is the best narrator I've heard so far on audible. Not over the top, not underwhelming. Perfect narration.
I got this because it was on sale and I'm so glad I did. It will keep you riveted from beginning to end.
probably not. listening to this is a good way to kill time, but the characters are pretty one dimensional. parts of the story get very interesting, especially the beginning, but overall it's very slow.
it's a very realistic portrayal and the emotional depths it reaches are pretty good, but it's VERY predictable.
the beginning pulled me in. it started off with a bang and i really enjoyed that.
near the middle
I've already read Austenland. I actually really enjoy that book and have read it several times. This book wasn't as interesting. The story was different, which was good, but the characters and plotlines just weren't as compelling.
If you loved Austenland, be prepared, this is not a sequel.
I loved this, and I do appreciate the narrator doing different voices for characters (which is very much needed in a story with so many various characters), but I found myself dreading chapters with certain characters specifically because of the way he read them. In particular, any elderly character was a voice filled with spit and was hard to listen to and also difficult to understand. The voice of the king sounded as though he was getting ready to hock something up. I think Roy Dotrice is very talented, I really do. But i literally cringed whenever some drooly spit-filled toothless person was being read. Is there such a thing as being too realistic??
