This is an intelligent and engaging book that appeals to the adult fantasy readers/listeners. But as opposed to those like George RR Martin, who have a lot of graphic content not appropriate for kids, this has none of that. I am so glad that Robin Hobb doesn't see that as necessary for a good tale. It is just as good as these others, but without the unnecessary baggage. Highly recommended!

Much of what Dr. Fuhrman writes is good sense: eat lots of veggies and stay away from processed foods. But his constant use of the word "miraculous" and others of that sort make this no more than a book of hype. Some claims are a bit on the outrageous side as well; his use of medical studies is a classic case of coming to a conclusion and finding studies to back them up. I tried to listen to glean nuggets but got so turned off by his hypish speak that I couldn't finish.
There are no miracles for weight loss. If there were easy answers or miracles, people would not be fat.

I really get tired of authors who have to include a bunch of sex in their books. This has a terrific plot and good characters, but the amount of sexual references gets tiresome. I don't mind some references, but the sheer volume is unnecessary and takes away from the plot. It's just distracting. I do like the narrator, by the way. Not sure why others don't.

The only bad side of downloading this book is that it may commit you to a big investment in Terry Pratchett audiobooks. OK, the other bad side is that you may drive off the road while laughing. I listened to this with my kids and had a wonderful time doing it. Yes, there are a few off-"colour" remarks, but the only kids who would understand it are probably old enough to hear it. Get this.

I got this book when it was on sale, but as I listened I was quickly drawn into the story and eventually got all of the audiobooks in the series. The same thing happened with my son when I let him listen. Fun story and good idea for the plot. Very well narrated as well. Definitely worth getting. Prepare to download the others.

Incredible story. Gripping. I lost myself in it. But...I could not play it out loud an could not share it with my kids (as I have others). Sexual content is frequent, although not graphic. F**k is said quite often. I'm not quite sure why the author needed to do this, but it did limit how I could listen to it. The story is still so good that it easily overcame this negative. Readers should just be aware.
