For more than 40 years, communism held eight European nations in its iron fist. Yet by the end of 1989, all of these nations had thrown off communism, declared independence, and embarked on the road to democracy.

An anonymous young woman murdered in a run-down hotel, all identifying characteristics dissolved by acid. A father publicly beheaded in the blistering heat of a Saudi Arabian public square. A notorious Syrian biotech expert found eyeless in a Damascus junkyard. Smoldering human remains on a remote mountainside in Afghanistan. A flawless plot to commit an appalling crime against humanity.

Would you try another book from Terry Hayes and/or Christopher Ragland?

    No

Would you ever listen to anything by Terry Hayes again?

    No

Did Christopher Ragland do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

    Ok

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from I Am Pilgrim?

I would have told Terry to rewrite the first chapters because they are flawed

    Any additional comments?

Just started so this might be too early but the book starts off with what appears to be a very sloppy mistake (why is it so clear the unrecognizable dead girl in the bath tub is not the girl that was living in the appartment??) and it seems to be written for us citizens only because in the writers opinion the rest of the world are all idiots. Not so great and rather annoying

On November 4, 1979, Iranian militants stormed the American embassy in Tehran and captured dozens of American hostages, sparking a 444-day ordeal and a quake in global politics still reverberating today. But there's a little-known footnote to the crisis: six Americans escaped. And a midlevel agent named Antonio Mendez devised an ingenious yet incredibly risky plan to rescue them. Armed with foreign film visas, Mendez and an unlikely team of CIA agents and Hollywood insiders traveled to Tehran....

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

The story as such is good ofcourse but the book is a long sit, without any pace or real suspense, going nowhere. I found myself listeing to some Hollywood chitchat for 30 minutes at a time. Very little historic perspective too. I do not recommend this book to anyone, sorry

Would you be willing to try another book from Antonio Mendez and Matt Baglio ? Why or why not?

    No

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Argo?

    That whole hollywood bs
