We are at a crossroads of immense proportions. Nationally, internationally, and globally, we areliving in a manner that is absolutely, unconditionally, irrevocably unsustainable. Our global economic stability is in jeopardy, our planet’s ecosystems are under attack, and our health is deteriorating. Huge changes are coming whether or not we want them, whether or not we are ready for them. How can we lead the charge to introduce innovations and solutions to meet the inevitable challenges of new kinds of economic forces?

If you believe that the environment our concern for the environment should take precedence over our concern for human life, then this book is for you. If you believe that turtles and trees should be given the same rights as humans, then this book is for you. If central government and the new world order is something that you look forward to, then you will thoroughly enjoy this book. Personally, I can't imagine what Glenn Beck was thinking about when he recommended this book. The author even alludes to pulling the plug on Granny in order to save on valuable resources. I thought I would receive valuable insight on how to handle the expected crash of the dollar. Something in the order of where to invest my funds. Instead, I was flooded with new age nonsense about the coming emerging consciousness of humans with the planet. I felt as if I were reading a Bruce Lipton book. I strongly recommend you don't waste your credits on this book and instead purchase ???How to Survive the End of The World As We Know it???.

This is the story of Michael Talbot, his family, and his friends: a band of ordinary people trying to get by in extraordinary times. When disaster strikes, Mike, a self-proclaimed survivalist, does his best to ensure the safety and security of those he cares for. Book one of the Zombie Fallout Trilogy follows our lead character at his self-deprecating, sarcastic best. What he encounters along the way leads him down a long dark road, always skirting the edge of insanity.

What disappointed you about Zombie Fallout?

I enjoy a good zombie book just a much as the next person, but this was an abject excuse for a zombie book. It was full of inconsistencies followed by gaping holes in the storyline. Had I known that characters were going to be created for the sake of filling a void with no intent of developing them, I would not have bothered to listen until the end. I kept hoping that the woman zombie character would come into play, but it seems the author just forgot all about her. The humor was sophomoric and difficult to ignore. I wish I could comment about the ending, but I still can't figure out how it ended. I suppose I will have to re-listen to the end, but I can't bare to put myself through the ordeal.

What do you think your next listen will be?

    I'm not sure.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I can't say I have a favorite scene. I kept hoping it would get better.

What character would you cut from Zombie Fallout?

    The Zombies.

    Any additional comments?

    This one should be free.

A true story as exhilarating as a great spy thriller, as turbulent as today's headlines from the Middle East, A Time to Betray reveals what no other previous CIA operative's memoir possibly could: the inner workings of the notorious Revolutionary Guards of Iran, as witnessed by an Iranian man inside their ranks who spied for the American government.

Walter says: "Absorbing throughout. Questionable at times."
    "You gotta buy this book."

This is perhaps the best book I have listened to this year. The narrator is excellent and you will be unable to put this book down. This book gets close and personal as a single man tries to free his country from the grip of terror brought about by Islamic terrorist. It is too bad our country has turn a deaf ear to the cries of woman and children that are being slaughtered on a daily basis in Iran.

A storm struck on the night Laura Shane was born, and there was a strangeness about the weather that people would remember for years. But even more mysterious was the blond-haired stranger who appeared out of nowhere - the man who saved Laura from a fatal delivery. Years later - after another bolt of lightning - the stranger returned.

Barry says: "One of Koontz' best, entirely enjoyable."

At first, I thought I would enjoy this book a whole lot more than I did. I was ready to put it down after a half hour but thought, dammit I paid for this and I will listen. Fortunately, it picked up and it held my interest up until the hero revealed where he came from. I found myself hating the friend of the women being pursued. And the more her character was developed, the less I wanted to hear about her. I labored somewhat to finish the book, but thought that overall it was worth listening to.

They call me the Spider. I'm the most feared assassin in the South -- when I'm not busy at the Pork Pit cooking up the best barbecue in Ashland. As a Stone elemental, I can hear everything from the whispers of the gravel beneath my feet to the vibrations of the soaring Appalachian Mountains above me. My Ice magic also comes in handy for making the occasional knife. But I don't use my powers on the job unless I absolutely have to. Call it professional pride.

This book could have been easily been just as good without the vampires and other silly stuff such as super natural powers of the heroin and others, but it did not detract anything from the story line. I would gladly listen to a part two of this book if the author ever considered writing a sequel.

Normally this is not my type of book. A little too erotic, but the author captured the flavor of the era and kept my interest. The narrators were great and I might consider listening to more of this authors books. I only wish that more time would had been devoted to the development of all the characters of the book.

By day, he stalks the sleeping undead, by night, he barricades himself in his home and prays for the dawn.

Fast paced and interesting, not like the boring movie. For those of you that saw the movie, relax. The book and the movie have very little in common. The narrator was clear, and except for being overly dramatic, he did a fairly good job. There where a few parts that where not intended to be funny, but after listening to the narration, you have no choice but to laugh at the over acting. It's a shame the author ended the book when he did, this book had a lot of potential and the author could have stretched the ending.

Anderson Lake is a company man, AgriGen's Calorie Man in Thailand. Under cover as a factory manager, Anderson combs Bangkok's street markets in search of foodstuffs thought to be extinct, hoping to reap the bounty of history's lost calories. There, he encounters Emiko...Emiko is the Windup Girl, a strange and beautiful creature. One of the New People, Emiko is not human; instead, she is an engineered being, creche-grown and programmed to satisfy the decadent whims of a Kyoto businessman.

    Overall

Perhaps I am impatient, but I allowed myself one hour of intense listening to try and figure what the heck this book was about. I was intent on trying to grasp or comprehend the subject matter. The experience of listening to this narration was akin to listening to someone recite random words out of a dictionary. I don't know what this book was about, nor what is has to to anything. I am perplexed as to why it was even written. Not only was it uninteresting, but it was beyond comprehension.

In the near future, disease will be a condition of the past. Most genetic defects will be removed at birth; the remaining during infancy. Unfortunately, there will be a generation left behind. For members of that missed generation, small advances will be made. Through various programs, they will be taught to get along in the world despite their differences. They will be made active and contributing members of society. But they will never be normal.

    "Irritating to say the least."
    Overall

If you can make it through the forth chapter, then this book is for you. Unfortunately, I don't have the patience. I kept hoping the book would stop irritating me and develop some kind of plot, but that was not to be the case. In desperation, I jumped to the last chapter of the first book only to find just another tedious list of of complaints of wrongs perceived or real by the main character.

The author has obviously put a lot of work and has insight on the autistic mind, but this book is for those that are interested in studying the social issues of autistic people. From the title or intro, I thought I was buying a Sci-FI book.
