I prefer audiobooks because I will become consumed by any story and with Audible I can get groceries, clean the house, and go about my day while being consumed by a good book.

As dusk approaches a small Dublin suburb in the summer of 1984, mothers begin to call their children home. But on this warm evening, three children do not return from the dark and silent woods. When the police arrive, they find only one of the children, unable to recall a single detail of the previous hours.

Twenty years later, the found boy, Rob Ryan, is a detective on the Dublin Murder Squad and keeps his past a secret. But when a 12-year-old girl is found murdered in the same woods, he and Detective Cassie Maddox find themselves investigating a case chillingly similar to the previous unsolved mystery.

This book was recommended to me, but I was not impressed. The performance was good, but the story was choppy and predictable.

Words are like a road map to reporter Camille Preaker's troubled past. Fresh from a brief stay at a psychiatric hospital, Camille's first assignment from the second-rate daily paper where she works brings her reluctantly back to her hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls.

I don't where know where to begin! Awesome book, awesome writing, crazy story! I was so dumbfounded when I finished this book that I had to watch a Disney movie to get it out of my head. Gillian Flynn pulls you into the world of the main character, and it is a crazy world! I love her writing style.

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

    Story

I've never really been into mysteries, and I only originally got this book because I was intrigued by the reviews on here and everywhere else. The story is amazing!! I knew there was a twist coming, but I never would have guessed what actually happened. The other twists caught me off guard altogether. Gillian Flynn's writing and story are phenomenal. I'm getting her other books now.

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

This was a good story. An original concept that was very well written. I can't wait for the final book.
