"It was ok...."
This was my first Karen Robards book and purchased based on a another's listeners reviews. I really liked Scott's character but felt like Lisa's character was weak. The romance story line was good but the mystery is what kept me listening. Susan Ericksen did an excellent job narrating!
"Actually pretty good...."
I really liked this Linda Howard read. Linda did her research here, the writing and topics were very interesting to me. I connected with the main characters, and even cried at the end. The romance was believable and steamy! The narration was excellent.
"Liked the plot did not like the hero!"
I really liked the plot and the location of this story! The descriptions of the amazon and stone city were fantastic. The character of Jillian came across as sincere, i really connected with her! I did not like the hero at all, and was really disappointed by some of his actions. Most of all I did not buy into their chemistry. Narration was ok, this narrator does a lot of Susan Mallory listens, and I could not help but feel like I was listening to one of her books.
"Fell short of plot and romance"
The plot and romance had potential, Howard just did not pull it off. I felt like so much could have been done with the idea of a librarian turned sexy husband hunter but LH just did not take it there. I felt like Jack's character could have been developed more. The narration was ok, Jack's "yankee" accent was AWFUL!
"Meh..."
Typical early Linda Howard. I had a hard time connecting with the lead female character and didn't buy into the romance plot. The only thing that kept me listening was the murder mystery.
"Silly!"
I bought because of the positive reviews, however I could not finish this audio book! Please don't waste your credit/money.
"Just Don't"
I could not finish this book, it was a combination of the narrator (too whiny) and the plot. Don't...
"Very Tempting"
I am not a big fan of Jennifer Crusie, however I liked this book. I enjoyed the relationship between Phin and Sophie. The narration was good. That pretty much sums it up!
"No Trouble at all!"
This is my favorite Rachel Gibson novel. I first read it and then immediately purchased it when audible published it. This has almost all of my favorite elements of a good romance: flawed characters, great (hilarious dialogue) and an engaging plot. I loved how the romance unfolded between Mark and Chelsea. I thought the narrator lacked a bit, she was very monotone and I did not think she captured Chelsea's care free character.
"Best Linda Howard"
I think this is Linda Howard's best audible book. At first I did not like the idea of a female body guard/ butler, turns out... it worked for me! The plot is very good, the romance is very believable and Susan Ericksen's narration is flawless.
