Knitting and life. They're both about beginnings - and endings. That's why it makes sense for Lydia Goetz, owner of A Good Yarn on Seattle's Blossom Street, to offer a class called Knit to Quit. It's for people who want to quit something - or someone! - and start a new phase of their lives.

Marjory says: "The book was what I expected"
    "Some good, tired of narrator"
    Overall

Through the beginning of the book, I wasn't pulled into the storylines. About halfway through I started to connect. I wish more would have been written on Alix. A shame to include a character and not write much about her. I really enjoyed the ending and at that point was really involved in the storylines. I couldn't stand Delilah as the narrator. I love her on the radio, but horrible as a narrator. Everybody had the same voice and expressions. It ruined a lot of the book for me. Overall, I liked the book though.

When Kayla Grey is caught in a fierce snowstorm in Montana, she is rescued by the very man she'd come to find. Cal was a true cowboy and also the brother of the man who'd wanted to marry her. But she didn't discover that until too late - after they'd kissed by a roaring fire and Kayla felt a desire she'd never known.

    "Too Rushed"
    Overall

This book had a good story to it, but it was too rushed. It didn't seem as if the author wanted to take her time in creating the story to a fuller extent. It was disappointing and not worth the money to me.

It's Dan Calebow's worst nightmare: Phoebe Somerville, a trendy New York knockout, inherits the Chicago Stars, the football team he coaches. And she wants to help him run it. Phoebe's sure he needs her. He's a sexist good-ol'-boy jock with a one-track mind. Surely she can straighten him out.

    "Enjoyable Read"
    Overall

I really enjoyed this read. I typically read historical, but a contemporary was a nice change of pace. There was a scene in the beginning with Dan's ex-wife that was very unnecessary. I didn't like that. Other than that, I liked it and actually laughed out loud at times. At first I didn't care for the narrator, she was a bit boring at first. Then I grew to not pay attention to that. Good book overall.

In the American Wild West the law is young, and men and women must make their own justice. Casey Stratton has left behind an unbearable situation at home and set off on her own, relying on her courage and inventiveness to survive where most women could not. Damien Rutledge III is a society man from New York, thrusting aside his life of refinement and sophistication in favor of a more basic need - revenge.

A western with a splash of romance. For the most part, I like this story. There were just a few things here and there that could have been done differently.

A betrothal has been announced that will join together Britain's two most powerful families - a union of wealth and influence to rival even the King himself. However, not only does the ambitious King John oppose this wedding, but Milisant and Wulfric - the intended bride and groom - are equally unhappy with the arrangement. Two passionate, headstrong people, they resent being thrown together for purely dynastic reasons.

    Nuria says: "TYPICAL MEDIEVAL ROMANCE"
    "Good book; Old idea"
    Overall

I enjoyed this book. It went along at a good pace. The one thing that I didn't care for was the woman acting and looking as a man/boy. I feel this idea is used too often. But still an enjoyable book.

Beth Gallatin has always wanted to settle down in one town, with one man, and raise a family. But with her father's roaming ways, she found solace in reading romances instead. The passing of her father, however, means that Beth and her sisters can, for the first time, dare to claim the rugged Montana frontier as their home. Nick Lassiter has loved Beth since she first came to town, but she's always seemed to think of him more as a brother.

A User says: "Great store Horrible narrator"
    "Good book; So-so narrator"
    Overall

I really liked this book. It's nice to hear so many references to the Bible. Some Christian books don't do that much. It's good that it's important to Tracie Peterson. I did not like the narrator. She was good when just reading the descriptions, but the voices were horrible. They weren't consistant, all the men sounded as if they were hoarse and losing their voices, the girls were just bad. I wish this had been the narrator that did part 1.
