Great book that as Mark Levy says, will cause a chain reaction of ideas in your mind. After reading this book my mind became like a volcano, sometimes I feel like I am going to have a brain seizure for having so many ideas when writing. It helped me get rid of a 7 year writer's block, now I am writing 2 blogs and ready to write a book!
This is crazy but my Adsense revenue increased more than 10 fold, the crazy thing is that it did not increase revenue on my blogs but on my Youtube channels. I think what helped was the revenue strategies for content and ad positioning. Since this book is mainly focused on blogs you can apply some of its strategies for your Youtube channel. My Youtube channels where producing 5 bucks a month on the best months 10, after applying some tips and creating better content I have had 4 months with income over 400 dollars, something I thought was not possible. I think this book kind of raised my expectations on the possibility of earning cash with Adsense, it works.
I do not make a living on Adsense, I just use it as a hobby all the cash I save, however I know that if I get serious I can multiply those $400 by 10 and really make a living out of it while sipping Piña Coladas on some tropical country.
This is less than $20 investment you will recover a thousand fold!
I had the ebook edition sitting inside my Kindle for months, somehow I didn't get through the first pages. Since I got a good deal in Audible, I decided to go for the audiobook and listen to it better.
I've read some of King's books and unfinished a couple, fiction is not my cup of tea. However I've been focusing on writing on the last years which has made me read almost everything there is on the topic. I bought On Writing, at the beginning for educational purposes, and thought King might have something good to say about it, and he did.
The cool thing about the audiobook is that it is narrated by him, so it is great when you have the author read his book. Second, it goes through King's personal life in a biographical style which is very interesting. And third, it entertains and at the same time delivers scattered advice throughout the book on tips on writing.
I really enjoyed the book and I would listen to it again, specially Chapter 4.
After listening to this audiobook I realized I really underestimated Steve Jobs and Apple. I had the fortune to work for Apple in Japan, from 2008 to 2011, almost 4 years were I got to know the company very close. It took me a while to embrace this book and finally read it since I have read a couple of books about Jobs, I just thought this was gonna be much of the same. Another deterrent from reading it was that its 22+ hours length, which I thought it was too much time to invest in a book about a man and I company I thought I knew enough about.
However, this book proved to be different from what I expected. It was a conversation from the hear and mind of Steve Jobs, narrating through Issacson the most intimate details of his life and the history of Apple, Next and Pixar. The book is dense and covers a lot of interesting anecdotes and details about Job's personal and professional life that include the evolution of Apple's technology, into what it is today.
My respect and admiration for Steve Jobs grew every day I listened to this audiobook, his life and achievements are something that beats human ability, it is like something sacred or superhuman was pushing this man forward. He revolutionized almost every industry, computer, movie, music, telecommunications, manufacturing, advertising, etc.. He set the standards for a new, more innovative and advanced world. In his words, he "pushed the world forward".
His death is a real loss for humanity, he died relatively young, who knows what he would've done I've he had survived cancer. How would the future on the next 2 decades would've been if Steve Jobs had been there?
A great book on ancient thinking and strategy from the writings of one of the greatest samurais in history.
This is a book about Gary read by Gary. You can never get tired of listening to him, he is funny, clever and gets to the point. His narration style is very original, goes off script, throws in a funny joke and gets right into business.
This book is a lot about his personal experience and focuses a lot on how he built his business through social media and gives you some tips and strategies on how to engage customers and built community and loyalty.
I would hear this book more than twice!
The contents are good and has some interesting facts and stories from Kawasaki. However the sound quality was worse than expected. I read reviews from others mentioning bad sound quality, it is actually terrible. It sounds like it was recorded with an old tape recorder from the back of the auditory. And ironically through some parts the voice is hardly audible.
It is is a shame the publisher didn't even bother to enhance the audio.
Excellent book, by the way Von Daniken's huge body of work of more than 20 books should be disseminated in all the formats possible. Since audible and kindle came out I became less of a fan of paper books, these digital formats make learning about these topics something more enjoyable and easier to do.
I just hope books from Graham Hancock's and David Icke's etc. get to Audible some time soon!
Rework definitely challenges the way things have been done so far in business. It is a new approach to management and a revolutionary way of being efficient and productive.
In my case I manage a small business and I apply concepts found in Rework. Another book I found essential for business is the Purple Cow. In a similar line of though challenging the way things are done and setting a new paradigm and approach to business.
Ron Paul brings up this essential issue in the US policy and world economy. This book should be a must read for every american in school.
The Fed is obviously a tyrannical organization that has destroyed the american economy, but not everyone understands it. End The Fed is narrated in an easy to comprehend language with common sense and easy to understand facts.
