One of the best audiobooks/series I've listened to
I'm a huge fan of "supernatural" stories, as well as history, the resulting historical fiction is a lot of fun. Mr. Correia has done a great job of making a very rich world for his characters to live in. I listened to the first book and was immediately hooked!
Bronson Pinchot does an amazing job in his performance, though the voices have changed a bit from the first book, I can't say enough how much I've enjoyed both entries in this series so far!
It was ok, I had heard it was similar to the dresden files, I can see that, but only if it was crossed with Chuck Palanuik. it's supernatural, but the main character is very dark (which isn't a bad thing in itself) it just didn't hook me, but I definitely have friends who'd enjoy it.
His "bored slacker" tone fit the character, and i've heard other performances, so I assume this was the director of the performance, but it just didn't pull me in.
the performer murdered my experience. I'm currently about halfway through, and just downloaded a different book, as i'm not sure I can finish this one.
Yes, I've listened to many of his books, they're fun and fluff, and great for doing cardio.
It may not entirely be the performer's fault, as he's a new one, tossed in to the middle of a series, but I find his work to be flat, all the characters sound about the same, and it's just kind of difficult to get invested in the story.
Having been an Audible member for several years, I've had the chance to hear performances from many different voice actors, some are very good and can really bring you into the story. I have to say that Bronson Pinchot is easily one of the best he does an outstanding job bringing the characters to life!
I will be up front and say i'm a sucker for urban fantasy, however Larry Correia has done an OUTSTANDING job creating a really fun and believable (in its scope) world
I'd never heard of the series or author before I stumbled across this book, and I really enjoyed it. Fast paced, and interesting, it wasn't really what I was expecting. I thought this would be a much more supernatural read, which I enjoy, but was very pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed Joe, and immediately picked up the other books in the series as well!
