  • The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption, and Pee

From the outrageously filthy and oddly innocent comedienne Sarah Silverman comes a memoir—her first book—that is at once shockingly personal, surprisingly poignant, and still pee-in-your-pants funny. If you like Sarah’s television show The Sarah Silverman Program, or memoirs such as Chelsea Handler’s Are You There Vodka? It’s Me Chelsea and Artie Lange’s Too Fat to Fish, you’ll love The Bedwetter.

Teddy says: "Adequate but not great..."
    "Meant as an audiobook"
    Overall

Hearing Sarah Silverman read her own book aloud seems it was the way it was meant to be. Not the greatest ending, but definitely worth listening to.

Before Sex and the City, Carrie Bradshaw was a small town girl who knew she wanted more. She's ready for real life to start, but first she must navigate her senior year of high school. Up until now, Carrie and her friends have been inseparable. Then Sebastian Kydd comes into the picture, and a friend's betrayal makes her question everything.

    Allison says: "TEEN GENRE!!"
    "Fun, fun, fun"
    Overall

I got a kick out of this book. I loved Carrie as a teenager discovering who she was - first loves - and best friends.

Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to deliver an evening lecture in the U.S. Capitol. Within minutes of his arrival, the night takes a bizarre turn. A disturbing object is discovered in the Capitol Building. The object is an ancient invitation, meant to usher its recipient into a long-lost world of hidden esoteric wisdom. And when Langdon's mentor is kidnapped, Langdon's only hope of saving him is to accept this invitation and follow wherever it leads him.

    Frank says: "Not his best"
"Some good parts...but mostly just ok"
    Overall

It was easy to get distracted throughout a lot of this book. BUT the good parts were VERY good and suspenseful. If you are a big Dan Brown fan, I'm sure you'd like this one.

It is the summer of 1950 and a series of inexplicable events has struck Buckshaw, the decaying English mansion that Flavia's family calls home. A dead bird is found on the doorstep, a postage stamp bizarrely pinned to its beak. Hours later, Flavia finds a man lying in the cucumber patch and watches him as he takes his dying breath. For Flavia, who is both appalled and delighted, life begins in earnest when murder comes to Buckshaw.

    Midi says: "Terrific story...spot-on narration"
    "I couldn't get through it"
    Overall

I get why people like the book - the main character is adorable. BUT I couldn't understand what they were saying half the time, the accents were so thick. I ended up bored and never went back to it.

Seventeen year old Veronica "Ronnie" Miller's life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alientated from her parents, especially her father...until her mother decides it would be in everyone's best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him.

    Brittina says: "Um... WOW!"
    "An easy read...er listen"
    Overall

An decent story that was easy to pay attention to. The male narrator was painful though when he would tried to imitate the girl's voice. I think he got the tone wrong, interpreted her wrong and came off as annoying.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

Jan says: "What a great surprise!"
    "Best audiobook ever!"
    Overall

A great story - and a perfect choice for an audiobook. The narrators were a perfect fit for the characters.
