Just a generation ago this place was called America. Now, after the worldwide implementation of UN-lead program called Agenda 21, it's simply known as the 'Republic'. There is no president. No congress. No Supreme Court. No freedom. There are only the Authorities. Citizens have two primary goals in the new Republic: to create clean energy and to create new human life. Those who cannot do either are of no use to society. This bleak and barren existence is all that 18-year-old Emmeline has ever known.

    J. Johnston says: "OK Thriller with an Important Message"
"great way to get nieve kids attention"

Would you try another book from Glenn Beck and/or January LaVoy?

Glenn yes, Fiction I don't know

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

    nice and neat

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

    good reader, nothing to dislike

Did Agenda 21 inspire you to do anything?

want to listen to this with my family on a road trip, excellent way to get them to ask questions

    Any additional comments?

Although the plot is a little predictable, it is entertaining, hopefully entertaining enough to get peoples attention. I'd like to see a tv mini-series or made for tv movie

  • Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared.....

Annie M. says: "Hillenbrand could make even laundry fascinating!"
    "Better than historical fiction"
    Overall

I loved this book, thought it was well researched, this author can do serious suspense, the real catch for me was when I learned it was a TRUE story. I hopefully will live for sometime, but to this date it is by far the best book I've ever read, not counting the Bible. I'd love to see an abridged version read in public schools.

Why we think it’s a great listen: A performance so poignant, we gave Bronson Pinchot (yes, Balki from Perfect Strangers) our inaugural Narrator of the Year award.... In the monsoon season of 1968-69 at a fire support base called Matterhorn, located in the remote mountains of Vietnam, a young and ambitious Marine lieutenant wants to command a company to further his civilian political ambitions. But two people stand in his way.

I'm just an airwinger with no combat time. I go to the birthday parties and feel out of place. This book reminded me that if you earn the title, you're a Marine. I thought it was outstandingly well written and covered all aspects of conflict.
