Rob Lowe has done an excellent job here. No question about it he is an unknown american icon. After reading this book I am a huge fan of his struggle in life to reach a place of serenity. Heartwarming, well written and fascinating stories. You would be hard pressed not to enjoy this one.

i have listened to 457 books to date; this is one of three I could not get through. I am just shocked that so many people gave it good reviews. I suppose if you do not mind high school level writing, it may appeal to you. The author cannot help but just continuously beat you over the head with bad writing and cannot let the story define the characters. The story itself is ok and the narration is not that bad. I would highly suggest staying away from this one.

This seems to be an unbiased apprasal of the CIA. I majored in American history and this book really explains much of America's reactions to events since WWII. It is a remarkeable commentary on the CIA using concrete analysis of public information and public disclosure.

The story was just not compelling. The writing is below average. If you like this author, I suppose it may worthwhile. Just boring and seems like it was written to attract middle age women.

a must read if you enjoy american history and learning while listening. a fantastic true story of a great american man in ww2. it will make you appreciate everything you have in your own life.

if you enjoy a well written book this is one for you. Well developed plot and characters. A very good read.

An interesting perspective; if you don't exercise or run, I would probably pass. If you do run, it is a good book to listen on a long run. Good memoir, but is not going to give you any incites on running better.

This book should be rated in the 4.5 range. An interesting story that is very well written. I am a writing snob; this author is simply a great writer. Well worth the listen.

Like most, i have a vague idea of what went on in the recent financial meltdown. This is a crystal clear concise explanation of the event using several different groups of investors. if you have not interest in finances it may not be for you, but i would suspect that is a very small percentage of the country. i cannot emphasize enough how mad you will be after learning how wall street greed eventually ruined the future for our children's children. This is as good as liar's poker and a must read.

Well reasoned. If you are intellectual curious about life, this is a must read. Probably the most seminal book of its kind. To dismiss this book without discussion would be a mistake.
