Lou Welcome, from Palmer's bestselling Oath of Office, is back in this heart stopping medical thriller. A desperate phone call embroils Lou in scandal and murder involving Dr. Gary McHugh, known around the Capital as the "society doc." Lou has been supervising McHugh, formerly a black-out drinker, through his work with the Physician Wellness Office. McHugh has been very cavalier about his recovery, barely attending AA and refusing a sponsor. But Lou sees progress, and the two men are becoming friends.

Where does Political Suicide rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's unlike any I've read previously.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

For the most part. Although I have to honestly say that the subject matter was very
    disturbing to me.

Given the importance of what they do, and the controversies that often surround them, and the violent people they sometimes confront, it is remarkable that in the history of this country only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett has just become number five.... Nothing is as it seems and everything’s fair game in this wickedly clever new novel from John Grisham, the undisputed master of the legal thriller.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

    Yes

If you’ve listened to books by John Grisham before, how does this one compare?

This is a little tedious, but nevertheless a good read.

What does J.D. Jackson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    Very well done delivery.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    No

    Any additional comments?

Very enjoyable read although sometimes I felt like pulling the narrator along a little so the book didn't seem quite so slow.
