I’m a Coroner. I spend my life laying things to rest . . . When lawyer, Jenny Cooper, is appointed Severn Vale District Coroner, she’s hoping for a quiet life and space to recover from a traumatic divorce, but the office she inherits from the recently deceased Harry Marshall contains neglected files hiding dark secrets and a trail of buried evidence. Could the tragic death in custody of a young boy be linked to the apparent suicide of a teenage prostitute and the fate of Marshall himself? Jenny’s curiosity is aroused.

This is so dryly read in monotone, that I can't make it into the second hour. I am going to guess that the written book is good enough, but this audible book lover is not impressed.... Maybe I will try again. But until then, this is a 2.

    Narrator #1. Monotone. Wow.

What was most disappointing about Laurie R. King???s story?

Haven't made it into the meat of the story, because the storyteller is so unbelievably boring. So sad. The book reviews have been good... Should I keep trying?????

What does Jenny Sterlin bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

    Awfulness.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Disappointment.

Volume two in this series consists of one novel, The Hound of the Baskervilles, and two collections of short stories, which include "Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes" and "The Return of Sherlock Holmes" (a total of 23 stories). These creations by Doyle represent the finest work of his Holmes series, and certainly the most famous.
