"Well Read"
I read a number of reviews complaining about the quality of the narration. It kept me from purchasing this book for a while but finally gave in.
I found the narration a perfect speed and tone and easy to listen to. I don't know where the negative comments have come from unless it's been re-recorded and re-posted.
This book is full of very useful information from start to finish. I highly recommend it.
"Detail"
I was very pleased with the content of this book.
From start to finish it is full of interesting information. Some books tend to have a certain amount of filler or wordiness to make them book size. This one has none of that. It is interesting and well read all the way through.
"Doesn't sound very scholarly"
I was very disappointed in this book. Not recommended at all.
The lectures felt like he was jumping around and not following a logical progression through history.
It sounds like he doesn't really study the bible as one would expect from a person giving lectures on the history of the church.
There are comments that make it sound as if he really is not a deeply interested in the subject.
To be honest (and I hate to be so negative) I thought it sounded more like he just quickly skimmed through the bible before recording this. There are errors in some of his statements concerning what is actually written.
"Encouraged"
Yes Zig is a Christian and he doesn't hide that fact. For people of like faith it is a refreshing collection of encouraging and motivating advice with biblical reference brought in once in a while. For others who don't share his beliefs it is still full of great wisdom that is very relevent regardless of the odd bible verses tossed in which some might not like.
He is a speaker and motivator very highly regarded and comes highly recommended to anyone.
To make it even more enjoyable he has a great sense of humour making it a fun listen as well.
"Worth money"
Though this book is free to download it would be worth purchasing.
I was surprised to find this book about free, which was free to download actual is a very interesting book I would highly recommend. Opened my eyes to how things are marketted and how I could prosper with my own products and services.
"Very informative"
I'm not sure how this book rates with people who are taking Psychology as a college or university course but I would guess it should rate high.
The naration is pleasing to listen to and the book is easy to follow and understand.
There is a whole lot of good content and very interesting.
"Great Ideas"
I loved this book. It has a great many ideas that will help in all walks of life. It helps you think about things and organize your thoughts and ideas.
It is great for writers, poets, song writers etc. but just as useful for inventors, business owners and people who need to figure things out or make plans.
"Free and worth every penny"
This book pretty much takes Napolean Hills, Think and Grow Rich (which I recommend to anyone) and turns it into a dialogue between two people.
Where I really got turned off was when it was said repeatedly that for success a person has to work 80 hours a week (not something in Think and Grow Rich). This is just ridiculous. To have to work 80 hours (that's 12 hours a day Monday to Friday and 10 hours a day Saturday and Sunday each week) is not success. I would say that is more failure in my eyes. Success is being able to have more freedom and enjoy your life. Yes you have to be ready to work hard when you have to and there will be some long hours sometimes.
I suggest paying the reasonable price for Napolean Hills original works and you will get much more and more clear without the unnecessary added conversational bits.
"Fantastic"
Who would think a subject like this could be so interesting and enjoyable. It is full and interesting from start to finish. The author/narrator is clear, cheerful and very interesting to listen to. I found it will help not only in writing but also speaking.
Very highly recommended for anyone whether writing, in sales, public speaking or just plain communicating.
"Disappointing"
I hoped to get more out of this book. The other reviews were encouraging but there just isn't enough meat in this audio book to make it desirable. It does have some good points but far shy in number to be a decent book.
I would highly recommend The Modern Scholar Way with Words: Writing Rhetoric and the Art of Persuasion to help you learn how to engage your readers and listeners. It actually covers more than just writing. As for books specifically on public speaking I would try The Art of Public Speaking before recommending this one.
