I loved listening to Penny Marshall for over 8 hours - I wish it could have been longer!

Too many to remember, it is such a great memoir.

Her own. She does a good impression of herself!

I laughed more with this book than any other I've listened to. Without a doubt.

This is not a book to be read - it MUST be listened to. Penny's voice makes her own life story so much more real & visual.

I've made it through 3 of these books now and, for me, they are getting better with each book. I'm happy to hear in this book much less of the erotica that has been in the other two, erotica that was a little blatently crass, in my opinion. I'm hoping future books continue to focus on the evolving storyline, shaping the characters, and furthering the relationships between all the characters.

I haven't listened to an audible book that has moved me as much as this one. It slowly pulls you in until you just can't stop listening & can't wait to get back to listening to the story to see what happens next. I was moved to tears by the ending and that never happens! A truly must-read book that is about so much more than kids with cancer. The narrator was absolutely fantastic!

Maybe I missed it, but nowhere did I read that this was one of those historical romance novels...just set in the future. Personally, I found the writing to be over the top in lyrical prose & romance descriptions...ie, "..his fingers press me up against the wall...his lips, his lips,his lips, his lips, his lips...my eyes are fighting not to flutter, my legs have won the right to tremble, my skin is scorched everywhere he's not touching me, his lips are so close to my ear I'm water and nothing and everything and melting into a wanting so desperate it burns as I swallow it down." I've read that the book gets better, but I don't believe I'll make it through. And yes, the scratching bits of noise & endless reiteration of words/phrases that can go with it are really annoying - I kept thinking the download was corrupted! I'm disappointed in my choice but I suppose it will be excellent for followers of romance novels.

I didn't properly understand how this book progressed. I thought it was all about Olive Kitteridge. Sometimes it is but sometimes it isn't. It's as if the book is made up of short stories that could all stand on their own. However, in every chapter she is present in some way even if she's not the main character. By the end of the book, she's become more accepting, more able to view life in its fullness and to see herself more clearly. It was a remarkable journey through another person's eyes and one I was sad to finish.

I wanted to get through this book. I was really looking forward to finally listening to it. But this is the first audio book I don't think I'll get through. It's not that it's bad - I keep seeing the words in my head and I know it would be good reading material but somehow it falls flat when listening to it. It would be helpful if they had included a female voice for Zoli's sections of the book. I just could not stay interested in listening. The premise of the book is intriguing but it is hard slogging to get through it. I wish it wasn't.
