Every single word seems to be a labor, and all the characters sounds as if they have some very important part of their anatomy in a vice that is slowly tightening.
The actual story is the great one that we all have come to love, but the devil is in the 'reading of it.'
I for one will not be purchasing anything read by Scott Brick ever again.
My heart goes out to poor sot who had to listen to the live version in the recording studio.
John Lee seems to be the go to guy for long tomes for Random House Audio.
It's a shame- the guy makes every character sound like they are laying on a beach and that getting anything done before noon would be asking too much.
If Dance of Dragons gets the Audible treatment, I hope they have the brains to beg, cheat and steal to get Roy D. to come back.
(perhaps even re record this one...)
I've listened to the first three many times- but I always give up a few hours into this reading because it's just boring and bad.
