Always leave a little salt on the bread. Ikey Solomon's favorite saying is also his way of doing business, and in the business of thieving he's very successful indeed. Ikey's partner in crime is his mistress, the forthright Mary Abacus, until misfortune befalls them. They are parted and each must make the harsh journey from thriving nineteenth century London to the convict settlement of Van Diemen's Land.

What made the experience of listening to The Potato Factory the most enjoyable?

This book is fantastic, kept my interest from beginning to end. The characters simply come to life and the narration was excellent. I think this may be a favorite of mine, can’t wait to listen/read the second book in this series.

This heart-stirring tale of a young slave girl, torn between her love for a handsome aristocrat and her faith in God, transcends genres with its awe-inspiring power and emotional intensity.

Would you try another book from Francine Rivers and/or Richard Ferrone?

I'm sorry, I just don't agree with the other reviews as far as narration goes. Unfortunately I am unable to give this book any kind of review for content. I am only making a comment because I simply could not get pass the narration. Monotone and the words are drawn out. I could go on, but enough said…in my opinion, horrible. Obviously, opinions vary, so I suggest you sample this book before buying.
