Maybe it was too long between books, but I didn't enjoy this listen as much as I enjoyed reading the first book. The characters, especially the Kanes, seemed too stereotypical and melodramatic. I did not enjoy this as much as I enjoyed his Percy Jackson series.

The narrators were good, just the plot needed some help.

I really enjoyed this book. The environment was completely new to me, yet well explained in the limited time. I felt I was there observing the main character, Shai, as she worked towards her salvation. Her motivations were well-described and although she's not technically a "good guy", I wanted her to succeed anyway. Excellent read and strongly recommend it if you're a fan of fantasy fiction.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The storyline mixed up past and present to keep the suspense high, and the characters were believable. I enjoy Temperance Brennan's stories, and I didn't feel as if the scientific details were difficult to understand. Kathy Reichs continues to be one of my favourite authors and Linda Emond does a great job with the narration.

I'm new to the Jack Reacher novels, and I really enjoyed the narration and storyline in this novel. I enjoyed the character of Reacher, who's seen a lot and doesn't really get surprised by anything anymore. He's a drifter who can take care of himself, yet keep his enemies underestimating his skills. I'm not sure if I'll listen to the second book unless I can find one by the same narrator, Dick Hill really seemed to get this character and he even did female voices well.

First of all, Peter Jeffrey does a fantastic job with all the voices he has to perform in this novel. Excellent work, and I never felt confused about who was talking.

The story itself is great! A nice long book, which I always enjoy, and one that kept me guessing for quite a while. You're led on many different pathways to decide what happened to which character after the Moonstone is stolen, and who could possibly have taken it. The main narrator, Mr. Bettridge is a great Yorkshire man and his voice is done very well. I enjoy stories from this time period, and so often they're overdone by modern writers, but this tale is almost relaxing from start to finish. There are moments of shock and excitement, and then, with Bettridge, you settle down and enjoy the rest of the tale. Bettridge is the kind of narrator you wish you could go visit and have a cup of tea and a pipe with him.

This is the tale of a man in desperate search for a job finding work in an unusual, 24 hour bookstore. There aren't many customers, but the returning customers are always strange, and Clay Jannon has to not only sell books, but also write about what each unusual customer says and does.

The mystery deepens as Clay uses modern technology and the help of his friends and a sexy Google employee to learn why Mr. Penumbra's bookstore is so unusual. The trip takes them to NYC and Nevada and to Google itself to solve the mystery.

I enjoyed this book. There was some techno-talk, but not enough that it was over a newbie's head, and tales of bookstores are always a fun read. This isn't a long book, but it's long enough. Robin Sloan paces the story well and there are twists and turns aplenty to keep you guessing if they will ever solve the mystery of Mr. Penumbra's bookstore.

Brandon Sanderson takes story-telling to a complete different place with this tale. I've never read a book like this before. Oliver Wyman narrates all the different voices he's tasked with extremely well, and he has a lot of different characters to work with in such a short book.

The book is very well written, and I love this concept. I don't know where Brandon Sanderson comes up with these fantastic ideas, but I can' wait to read more of his work. And I hope Oliver Wyman will be narrating. Well done on both counts.

I read It as a paper book many years ago and decided to give the audiobook a try when it was recently on sale. I would have been happy to spend 2 credits on this book, it is excellent. Stephen Webber does a fantastic job with the voices, he really brings you into the story with his narration, and when he does the Pennywise voice he creep me right out! Well done and I would listen to this again, all 25+ hours of it.

Fans of this stellar writing duo, DO NOT buy this book. I was very excited to hear the first book of a potentially wonderful new series by two of my favourite authors, and consequently I am extremely disappointed by this book. The plot jumps around and doesn't seem to have much consistency. Basically it reads like a screenplay, and unsurprisingly the movie rights have already been purchased. I have no real interest what happens to the main character or any of the sub-characters. Compared to the rich histories of each character in the Pendergast series the characters in this series seem stereotypical and melodramatic. I wish I could get my money back since I have no interest in even finishing this book.

This second book from Brandon Sanderson to finish off the Wheel of Time series is, if possible, even better than _The Gathering Storm_. Everything is building to an amazing climax, I can't wait for the last book. A lot of loose ends are tugged closer together and we hear from a character who seemed lost earlier in the series.
