Myfanwy Thomas awakes in a London park surrounded by dead bodies. With her memory gone, her only hope of survival is to trust the instructions left in her pocket by her former self. She quickly learns that she is a Rook, a high-level operative in a secret agency that protects the world from supernatural threats. But there is a mole inside the organization - and this person wants her dead.

I only got 5 hours in before I had to stop; story progresses too slow. The mysterious nature of the main character's amnesia made it difficult to form a bond with her and subsequently I did not care for her situation. The narrator didn't help either, she was overzealous at times (mainly when she was irritated at something). It's possible that the book gets a lot better but after the first 5 hours I couldn't take anymore.

Not like the daemon series. Characters were not at all interesting, more of the same stuff without the interesting character development. I don't understand how this book gets an average of 4.3 - I did however love the Daemon books I hope the author continues with that series.

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

Wow. Just wow. This book was phenomenal it exceeded my expectations. I found myself cheering in the car it was truly exciting. And Wil Wheaton...this guy needs to do more audio books he did a great job he really gives the characters a voice. I'm going to find more cyberpunk books to read I'm a fan.

I like the story line but the author is a bit of a windbag and tends to drag a lot of the fight scenes on forever. Narrator does a decent job but reads slowly, this book could easily have been a 17 hour audio book if the narrator spoke at a normal rate.

  • The Exorcist: 40th Anniversary Edition

Four decades after it first shook the nation, then the world, William Peter Blatty's thrilling masterwork of faith and demonic possession returns in an even more powerful form. Raw and profane, shocking and blood-chilling, it remains a modern parable of good and evil and perhaps the most terrifying novel ever written.

I listened to this book while my wife was out of town. Bad idea. I slept with the lights on the whole weekend. I'm 35.

The author does an unusually phenomenal job of narration, I wish he'd only been a more prolific writer I'd love to hear more of his work and his narration. The book took me to a darker place than I remember when i saw the movie for the first time 15 years ago.

Tufo is shaping up to be a really good story teller. This series is from the perspective of the main character but is not a strict "first person". The narrator is fantastic, yes he sounds like Hank Hill, but I always get a kick out of hearing Mike Talbot curse or talk about his past. I can't get Hank Hill out of my mental picture. Book 4 and the storyline is still fresh, looking forward to more from Tufo

Christopher Snow is the best-known resident of 12,000-strong Moonlight Bay, California. This is because 28-year-old Chris has xeroderma pigmentosum (XP), a light-sensitivity so severe that he cannot leave his house in daylight, cannot enter a normally-lit room, cannot sit at a computer.

I really enjoyed this one. A couple reviews back I was dissatisfied with Koontz but this book has made me a loyal fan once again. Short book but a lot of character development and not too "dog focused", a lot of his books have a special dog in it. Narrator (although sounds like he smokes quite a bit) did a great job. Looking forward to my next Koontz book!

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Leading character is such a braggart it ended up becoming a major distraction for me; the period that takes place in the university with "character development" was entirely too long (at least 15 hours is dedicated to this guys time at the university). This book could have easily been edited down to 12 hours and still have the same content but it wouldn't change the fact that the character is too self centered and egotistical to care about.

Story was so-so; I'm honestly getting tired of Koontz's writing style; I don't know how to express this accurately, but he has a habit of building in this "cutsie/quarky" element to his characters that is ubiquitous in all his books, it's a little tiring and gets irritating. I'm guess I'm a King fan all the way. His obvious love for dogs is great, but almost every book (except for this one) has some kind of fantastic shaggy dog with a great personality. I'm a dog lover myself, but again it gets tiring.

I loved every bit of this book...ok ok, not every bit, it is a long series and there is a lot of detail but it is so well written I didn't mind the drawn out chapters. This is my fifth Dan Simmons book, this man has a serious talent for creating fantastical plots with interesting characters who you either love or want to spit on. 5 stars across the board!!
