I loved this book. Who would have thought that vampires could be so funny; Moore's use of dark humor is genius. I had to turn the book off while flying last because I could not stop laughing out loud. The Narrator Susan Bennett an incredible, she brought Jodi and Tommy to "life". Buy this, you will not be disappointed.
No, I would recommend purchasing a print copy.
As in most of Bill Bryson's audio books it's his narration that brings the book to life and makes the listening experience so much more enjoyable. William Roberts narration is fine, but as other reviewers mentioned he doesn't "get" Bryson's timing and cadence. Although Made in America is not my most liked Bryson book (my personal favorites being At Home and The Short History of Nearly Everything) I did appreciate the history, trivia and story telling of the book. I'll keep my fingers crossed that Bryson might give us an abridged version of Made in America in the near future.
Bill Bryson wrote a wonderful history of his home. I now look at my old farmhouse with curious eyes; and what a pleasant surprise to learn the origins of popular sayings such as "the lime light" and"boardroom". I have enjoyed many of Bill Bryson's past books, but "At Home" is now my favorite.
Very funny book; who knew what those poor werewolf's had to go through each full moon.
I loved this book. Mary Roach wrote an insightful, quirky and fascinating book. Sandra Burr was a wonderful narrator. I would recommend Packing for Mars not just someone who has an interest in the space program but to everyone who has ever wondered what it really takes to even get to outer space.
I purchased this book expecting to learn how the secret service works, but all I learned was useless gossip and one sided opinions of the author. I did learn an important lesson, read other member reviews before purchasing. Most of the reviewers share my opinion regarding the book. The book contained very little actual history or a "behind the scene" look at the secret service. I wish I could return this download, at least I can delete it and warn others before they make the same mistake.
