This is a little light "reading", but the narration is excellent. Jenna Lamia also narrated "The Secret Life of Bees", which led me to this book. She does such an excellent job with the southern accent, that it makes me slip back into my own-even though I have not lived in the South now for over 30 years. I also discovered, accidentally, that she is one of the narrators in "The Help", which I thoroughly enjoyed.

This was my first book by Stieg Larsson, but after listening to this one, I purchased his next book, "The Girl Who Played with Fire" and can't wait to start it. The narration is excellent and made the book that much more exciting. There was much depth of character and a "page-turning" mystery, not easily guessed. I couldn't stand to put it down.

I like the Baldacci books and have listed to 2 others on Audible, but the narrator on this one is not good at all. The inflections are off, and it is just distracting. It is hard to enjoy the story when the narration is so poor. I should have listened to the sample before choosing. If I had, I would have downloaded it to my Kindle instead.

When I bought this book I had no idea how good it was going to be or I would not have waited to enjoy it. I had listened to other books before this one, until friend after friend told me I HAD to read it. I am from the South and remember the period encompassed by the story, although I was quite a bit younger than the main characters. It was quite an accurate portrayal of Southern women (white and black) and all four of the narrators were excellent. This is one of those rare books that is better in audio than if you read it in print format. You will not be sorry if you choose this book. Enjoy!
