"Experience many Aha moments"
I have listened to this book twice or more during the week. It is real, applicable to life as it is now, and relevant to people in every stage of life. From all of the self-help audiobooks I have purchased this is by far my favorite. Truly a pleasurable listen.
"Indulgent, like chocolate covered strawberries"
Fun, Sexy, and Yummy. The characters bring in all the fun from the sexy vixen Liza's purse slapping humor to Elvis the music loving cat. Then you have the sexy ways in which the moments of intimacy are described and it all rounds off to one yummy chocolate Krispy Kreme doughnut.
It is a feel good story which drags you in and makes you want more. The characters are so likeable even the mean ones that create the drama in Min & Cal's life.
Cal. I know it's Deanna reading his character, but he sounded very sexy at times. Hands down the best male narration from a female I have heard thus far.
It made me hungry for some Chicken Marsala and doughnuts.
I rarely read/listen to fiction books. But once in a while I will find a gem like this and can't put it down. I literally had it playing on my Android in the car, PC at work, and laptop at home because it was like a bag of chips that you cannot put down. Loved it and I am looking forward to more indulgent moments enjoying Jennifer Crusie writing.
"More boring than vanilla at Baskin Robbins"
Someone who doesn't bore easily and is into very insignificant details.
No, I am afraid that her style is not one that I would like to experience again.
There was a slight lisp that I have often heard in UK English which was very distracting.
So many I can't even begin to count. The book was filled with insignificance things including many characters.
After five hours of listening to part 1, I came back to Audible to read the reviews in hopes that I would find the reason why I was interested in this book to begin with. Given the high ratings I thought it would pick up in the second half and become exciting with some deep life altering issues. But unfortunately the second half was as predictable and boring as the first. The characters Darcy and Lizzie describe themselves as private and not allowing people even the closest relatives into their lives. Well the same is true of us the listeners. I did not care for the characters nor their story. If this was friend or relative telling me about their life in the same fashion as this book told the story of Lizzie and Darcy, I would had politely walked away faking the sudden onset of a headache. Next time I follow my instincts and stop after the first hour of torture.
"Just like watching TV... a commerical every 5 mins"
There are bits of great information and entrepreneur insights mixed in with a lot of commercial-like statements about Linked-in. Also, there was way too much name dropping without any real purpose. It was like being in a boring first date with a person that can't stop boasting about their connections and achievements. There was nothing there to attach what is being said to the listener. At moments I felt as if I was being talked to and not engaged. While I am glad to have an opportunity to gain some insight into Reid Hoffman's success, I doubt I will be listening to this or any other book by him again. There will be no second date.
"Finally Centered"
How I wish I would of had this tool in my arsenal a long time ago. I WAS naturally an axious person, who spent too much time in the future and dragging out the past. I have lsited to this audiobook every day since I purchased it. Now when my mind tends to go arry, something in my brain triggers a response that will bring me back to the present moment. Something which it was capable of doing in the past. I love my life even more so now that I can control the anxiety and uneeded trips down the bad memory lane. Thank you so much Craig, Audible, and all those that gave good reviews which is the reason I selected this book.
"Sleeping like a baby"
My husband was having trouble sleeping through the night. Since I liked the other Craig Beck audiobooks I decided to give this a try and it worked. So far I have been very impressed with Mr. Beck's work.
"Hypnotic"
Glenn Harrold's voice is so soothing and relaxing. I must confess I have not yet finished it, as I find myself falling asleep somewhere in the middle of the meditation. If you don't mind a good nap or restful meditation this is a meditation you will enjoy.
"Great acting by the narrators"
Loved it. I was really impressed with both the writing and acting. Truly a must listen for those who enjoy the Tudor era.
"Never got into it"
The story moved too slowly and I found myself bored waiting for the end of the chapter hoping there would be some action to break up the never ending dialog. I gave it a chance and listened all the way through, but found myself wanting to call it quits by the time I reached the 6th hour. I also found it hard to follow the narrator. At times I found her high pitch reading very annoying. Not worth the credit or purchase.
