I love to read! However, since I'm exhausted when I get home, I don't really want to do anything that causes me think. So, I watch TV.

Vampire and thief Raylene Pendle doesn’t need more complications in her life. Her Seattle home is already overrun by a band of misfits, including Ian Stott, a blind vampire, and Adrian deJesus, an ex–Navy SEAL/drag queen. But Raylene still can’t resist an old pal’s request: seek out and steal a bizarre set of artifacts. Also on the hunt is a brilliant but certifiably crazy sorceress determined to stomp anyone who gets in her way.

On the eve of publication, the two reporters responsible for the story are brutally murdered.

If you could sum up The Girl Who Played with Fire in three words, what would they be?

This series is one of the best I have ever read. The author has a way of making you feel a part of the characters. I've listened several times and I've watched the original movie verions and had to read the subtitles, but trust me, it was worth it.

Wish we could have had more by Larrson.

After fleeing to Ojai, then Paris, and escaping to London, Josh and Sophie Newman are finally home. And after everything they've seen and learned in the past week, they're both more confused than ever about their future. Neither of them has mastered the magics they'll need to protect themselves from the Dark Elders, they've lost Scatty, and they're still being pursued by Dr. John Dee. Most disturbing of all, however, is that now they must ask themselves, can they trust Nicholas Flamel?

I really enjoy this series; however, I am not happy with the ending of this book. I don't like how we were just left hanging. I feel like the book could have gone further. My question is when does the next book come out, because it feels unfinished.

This book did just what I wanted it to do; entertain. I had hoped for more detail about the characters, but it kept me wanting more. I would recommend if you are looking for an easy listen.

  • The Shadow of the Torturer: The Book of the New Sun, Book 1

The Shadow of the Torturer is the first volume in the four-volume epic, the tale of a young Severian, an apprentice to the Guild of Torturers on the world called Urth, exiled for committing the ultimate sin of his profession - showing mercy towards his victim.

Gene Wolfe's "The Book of the New Sun" is one of speculative fiction's most-honored series. In a 1998 poll, Locus Magazine rated the series behind only "The Lord of the Rings" and The Hobbit as the greatest fantasy work of all time.

Ryan says: "great writing, won't appeal to everyone"
    "horrible!"
    Overall

This was the first time I regretted purchase. I feel like I wasted my money. It was hard to follow and the narrator didn't help. Don't bother unless you are really bored.
