"Something different"
I've read all of these books and they were fun albeit I wouldn't want to read them again. It's not great fiction and as a reader it does feel like getting lead by the nose a lot. There is no mystery because there is no way to figure out the outcome so you just read and get lead and enjoy. They are entertaining, but I don't get what all the hype is about. Each book seems to unravel a little more and more until you are left almost not caring about the characters anymore. I had read the reviews but I wanted to see for myself. I wouldn't buy these I would rent them and try them out knowing not to expect a whole lot.
"The Theme"
I have been thinking on this whole Twilight thing for a bit and I do believe what calls out to all of us of all ages is the "True Love" in the story. It's what we all long for. Now with that said, I did enjoy these books, I would let my daughter read them (when she's older than her ripe 7 years) and they were fun. It's not great literature or a classic but it's worth the read and the characters are so rich that you do tend to fall in love with them. Is it over the top, yes, but it's fiction and we are talking teenagers; what isn't over the top for teenagers? LOL!! If you are looking for a fun escape, dive in you won't be dissappointed Meyer is vivid in her descriptions and unyeilding with the depths she writes her characters.
"Unexpected"
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I really do feel it's her best work yet. A bit long in the beginning but most of Meyer's books are so; but well worth it. The narrator was PERFECT for this book and I would recommend this audio book to anyone, it does make you think.
