Enguerrand de Coucy is the landed aristocrat who links this history together. There were a number of other figures he encountered that I'd like to learn more about. I need to get a paper copy of this book for reference.

Her classy narration fit the subject.

I'd recommend finding a paper copy of this book to accompany the audio version if you are interested in further research. There are many names of places and people that are difficult to decipher by ear as they are obscure and French. There were so many fascinating stories and people that I'd like to learn more about, but I don't know where to begin.

I enjoyed the continuation of the story from the first book. It's been a while since I'd heard the first one, so I got a little bit lost when I couldn't quite remember who was who and their wheres and whys. I always like Scott Brick's performance.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a little pleasant distraction.

The story moved along quickly and it had an unexpected conclusion.

I liked the two principal characters - the angel and the demon. Their conversations were highlights.

Toward the end of the book, the author does a solid job of linking this historic event to the present situation.

Scott Brick is my favorite audiobook reader.

This book isn't for me. If this cartoon-noir first person narrator character is meant as a parody, it's a clumsily rendered parody. It's too bad that it seems to be an earnest effort. John Corey is meant to be a grown and worldly man, but his attitude toward women is that of an 11 year old boy (oh look, boobies!) and he regards men only as rivals for female attention. I can't stand to have this oaf as a companion and window into this world of crime and intrigue any more than the 4 hours I've already tolerated.

Nope.

Scott Brick's reading led me to this title. I like him.
