Three strangers who are trying to find their way in the wake of loss become entwined in an identity theft scheme, which has a resounding impact on them all. A gorgeously written psychological study, and a meditation on identity in the modern world, this is a literary novel with the haunting momentum of a thriller.

Scott says: "Beautifully Written, Beautifully Read"
    "Clever"
    Overall

Good choice if you want a psychological ride while peeking at an unfamiliar side of life. The pace is established from the very beginning and this is a book that could be listened to more than once.
Narration was good but not perfect.

The Sun Also Rises is one of Ernest Hemingway's masterpieces and a classic example of his spare but powerful style. A poignant look at the disillusionment and angst of the post-World War I generation, the story introduces two of Hemingway's most unforgettable characters: Jake Barnes and Lady Brett Ashley. Follow the flamboyant Brett and the hapless Jake as they journey from the wild nightlife of the 1920s Paris to the brutal bullfighting rings of Spain with a motley group of expatriates.

    "great, fantastic, etc."

A modern classic read by the perfect narrator. I wish William Hurt did more books, as opposed to short stories.

  • Lonesome Dove

Larry McMurtry's American epic, set in the late 19th century, tells the story of a cattle drive from Texas to Montana, a drive that represents not only a daring foolhardy adventure, but a part of the American Dream for everyone involved.

    A. Wright says: "Inspired reading of a great book"
    "My kind of vacation book!"
    Overall

While on vacation, we had to buy two copies. Once the other started reading it, there was no turning back. The recording was just as captivating. The women are strong, characters are colorful, and you can taste the dust in your mouth as you experience their search for water. I am not an easy five-star giver, but this was unquestionably a five-star listen.
