"Bad story, even worse narration"
No. The narration made this story worse. Empathis was off throughout the whole story, and especially in the dialogues.
I went for what I hoped was a light story, but got a flat one instead. I really have nothing good to say about it, it was just plain bad.
"Good entertainment..."
Okay listen (Damon is hot!) but too much focus on Elena. Would have wished for Bonnie (or anyone else really) to shine some more. Don't like that Elena takes up all the space and seems to take for granted that she is the center of them all.
"Brilliant!"
All five star reviewers have already said everything worth knowing about this book, the author and the narrator. Buy it, not only for the verbally armed heroine, but for all the other great characters in this book. Well written, greatly narrated and best in the series so far!
"One dimensional"
I never understood how and why the social bonds formed between the "heros" of this story. There was no explenation, just boom! and there it was. All the characters felt one dimensional most of the time. This book should have been shorter, and then maybe it wouldn't have felt so empty of substance.
Jack LeFleur was good. Try A Reason to Believe instead.
"Hard to separate thoughts from speach..."
...something I think other reviewers have mentioned before. Narrator did a good job with the accents though.
I didn't really warm up to the main character, what with all the "I know I'm wrecking my own life and the life of those I love by making this decision, but I will make it anyway since I really want to be miserable". I get that she's had a tragic past but come on! She doesn't have to make it worse by consciously sabotaging her own happiness.
This was going to be a positive review, but guess I dind't like this book as much as I initially thought. Got a warm feeling while listening, but after a week or two I can't remember why.
"Hot and sweet"
A lot of hot sex and a sweet story to connect it all.
No, this is the first time. She's got a great dry tone that suits this story. Very pleased with the narrating!
"Cliché"
I didn't know it was possible to cram so many cliches into one relatively short story. Just under six hours, and I had to force myself to listen. I can be a sucker for sweet romance, but this was bad. I wanted lemonade and got stuck with sticky molasses.
I got really frustrated, not only with the story but also the narration. There's only one word for it: slow. I don't recommend this story to anyone.
"Great listen, wonderfully narrated"
I love everything about this story! The herioine is cheeky, unpredictable and strongwilled, the storyline a far cry from many of the vampire books out there that's usually about macho men saving their beautiful but weak destined-to-be wives from harm. Well, there is a bit of saving going on,but in a good way.
The characters are very well thought through with personalities that made me both laugh (out loud in afternoon rush hour at the tube station like a lunatic) and want to pull my hair out by the roots in frustration. Just read it and you'll understand.
"Cute"
I love Janet Evanovich, especially the Plum series. Lorelei King does a great job narrating this one.
Absolutely, though I think I've read all that's been published already.
Not as spunky a heroine as Stephanie Plum, but a great laugh nevertheless.
