Armed with knife, fork, and corkscrew, Peter Mayle travels to every corner of France. From bouillabaisse to escargot, here is all the glory and pleasure of the French table in the most satisfying audiobook. Bon app├ętit!

The over-cooked English accent that the reader employs sounds like a monty-pythonesque parody: impossible to sit through!

The smash hit Left Behind saga, the best-selling inspirational series of all time, comes to its extraordinary conclusion in this thrilling audiobook. Glorious Appearing picks up the action following the cosmic battle of the ages, and not all the members of the Tribulation Force have survived!

timetobuy says: "how a write about the Re-Appearing of christ?"
    "Amazing in one sense..."
    Overall

After listening to this title, it seems extraordinary to any intellectually honest person that poorly plotted superstition such as Glorious Appearing can catch fire in a modern society and be so popular. It reinforces the conclusion that the "Left Behind" series as a whole should make one feel species-shame.

On December 7, 1941, America was thrust violently into World War II when Japan launched a devastating surprise attack on the U.S. naval installation at Hawaii's Pearl Harbor. This absorbing, enlightening, powerfully dramatic collection is the ultimate chronicle of what President Franklin Delano Roosevelt called "a date that will live in infamy."

Bernard Lewis examines the historical roots of the frustrations and resentments that dominate the Islamic world today and that are increasingly being expressed in acts of terrorism. He looks at the theological origins of political Islam and tells us what the Islamic doctrine of jihad has meant at different times in history.

Frank says: "Absolutely Worth It, HIghly Recommended!"
    "Outstanding"
    Overall

Lewis seemed to go through a stage where he wrote the same book several times (i.e., the roots of the Islamic world's current problems). This book is different - it is packed with startling geopolitical insights and original analysis. If you buy one book about history, politics or religion this year, make it this one.
