Carrick Francis has spent most of his life jumping into trouble with both feet. The only thing saving him from prison or worse is his absolute devotion to Deacon Winters. Deacon was Crick's sanity and salvation during a miserable, abusive childhood, and Crick would do anything to stay with him forever.

This is a sweet story and Amy Lane isnt bad. I liked the characters she created, flawed and at the same time kind and compassionate. The narrator really need to stop screeching in that annoying tone when speaking for some of the characters!

Would you consider the audio edition of Matter of Time: Vol. 1 to be better than the print version?

No not really - but it is not a bad performance. The voice of the storyteller was a little bit different in my head - younger sounding and lighter.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The main character, who also tells the story - Jory. He is weird, flawed and absolutely perfect at the same time. His personality is actualy the main reason why this is an amazing story. You cant help loving him and the way his mind work. It makes you listen to the story with a smile on your face.

What does Paul Morey bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Cant really tell you - nothing?

Who was the most memorable character of Matter of Time: Vol. 1 and why?

    se above...

    Any additional comments?

Best book by Mary Calmes by far - but you might want to wait until you can listen to all of the books in the "Matter of time" series - because this book is only the begining of the story.

This is a very NOT realistic story - its a fairy-tale with a plot sort of like the movie the Blue Lagune. Except of course that the characters in this book are adult (or for the male main character - teenager). It is not very well written and not really that good, just not really bad either. Narator is fine.

Recently widowed, grieving Los Angeles midwife/nurse Melinda Monroe answers a small upstate town's ad for help. Nestled amongst California's giant redwoods, quaint Virgin River is host to many quirky characters - including bar owner Jack Sheridan, who may be just the man to make Melinda smile again.

This is the second book in the virgin river series that I have read - a little backwards as this is the first novel in the series. Robyn Carr tells a good story and the narrator is good. If you like romance novels that are well written and (mostly) realistic, you will like this one.

The year is 1771. Claire Randall is still an outlander, out of place and out of time. But now she is linked by love to her only anchor: Jamie Fraser. They have crossed oceans and centuries to build a life together in North Carolina. But tensions, both ancient and recent, threaten members of their clan. Knowing that his wife has the gift of prophecy, James must believe Claire, though he would prefer not to. Claire has shared a dreadful truth: there will, without a doubt, be a war.

This is a must read if you like romance novels. Diana Gabaldon makes the story come to life. Humor, love, history (as in you can look it up in a history book and the major events are real), friendship, enemies, war, fate and fantasy - all in one. I have read more books than I could ever count in every genre possible and this makes my top 10. And you should think that you would become borred since it is VERY long - but I am looking forward to the next book in 2013.

"Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness… He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily…Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds…and desires."

I did not enjoy this book as much as fifty shades, but I do understand why everybody is comparing the two. The storylinie in this one is a little borring and sometimes I forgot to listen. Of course it is a matter of taste, but I did not like the main female character overly much. The performance of the narrator is actualy pretty good and she makes the book better. Just like fifty shades, there is a lot of sex scenes in the book, and I think that if you count the minutes you spend listening to this part of the story, it would probably be more than half. Not sure if I will read or listen to the second book in this series.

The story line isnt bad, but the style of writing is, in my opinion, really anoying. So are the main characters, especially the woman, whom I personally would hate if she existed in reality. Absolutely no brain at all and not in a good way.

I accidentally stumbled over another series by Mary Calmes called "a matter of time" and was a little surprised when I flat out loved it. So when I finished that one I thought I would give this one a try too, although I was a little skeptical when it came to the supernatural plot. It is well-written and funny and if you like the supernatural part, you might find this one very good. Ofcourse you should also be able to read about homosexual relationships and their sexlife - otherwise you are in for an information overload, you probably could live without.

With an ailing mother to care for, Lisa Grant takes the first job she can find: research assistant to District Attorney Scott Buchanan. What Lisa expects to be a mind-numbingly boring task turns into anything but when a missing-persons case draws her attention. The details of the case are engrossing: an entire family — father, mother, and two children — disappeared without a trace more than 28 years ago. Except that’s not all: the mother in a photo Lisa finds could be her own twin.

It’s not that Micayla Lange is afraid of the clinking she hears coming from the first floor of the empty McMansion she’s housesitting for her uncle Nicco. She’s a cop, after all. It’s just that finding out her boyfriend was cheating on her was enough drama for one night. Now she’s alone on New Year’s Eve, wearing flannel pajamas and wielding a Glock 22 as she zeroes in on the unmistakable source of the sound: Uncle Nicco’s private office.

This story is kind of the story you read a thousand times - not really a surprise, not bad but not remarkable in any way. If you have not read something with a similar plot before then it is as good as any of the others. Would have expected more from this author, who's books I generally enjoy. If you listen to it and dont like it, then dont let it discourage you from reading her other book - most of them are very good.
