This part of the series takes us away from the action for a while but is a great addition to the series as it takes us back in time to add some back story to the zombie story. By it self it wouldn't make much sense at all, but if you listen to it after book 3 it's well worth the additional information and some of the info will come into play later.

For the first half of this story I probably spent a lot of time raising one eyebrow. Some of the creatures and events from the very beginning were so off the wall I was pretty sure David Wong got some good mushrooms before he started writing.

I decided to stay with it and eventually I did find myself interested in the characters and wanting to know what was going to happen next.

By the time I reached the end of the book I was looking forward to hearing the next book in the series (This Book Is Full of Spiders: Seriously, Dude, Don't Touch It) and I found that I enjoyed it so much more than this one because of the narrator.

Stephen R Thorne may be a wonderful narrator but his tone just didn't seem right for the characters of this story.

Overall it's a must read if you want to enjoy the second book in the series and that alone makes it worth the investment.

I miss the MHI team already. It surely sounds as though they have more work to do so I am hoping there will be more Monster Hunter International stories to come.

In the beginning I wasn't sure that I liked this book because it was focused mostly on just one of the characters from the other two books. I have grown fond of all of the hunters at MHI and missed them.

Nevertheless, I am glad I didn't stop listening, not that I could have, the story grabbed my interest pretty quickly.

Definitly start with book 1, "Monster Hunters International" in order to understand many of the references in this book.

Larry Correia has an amazing imagination and comes up with some of the craziest creatures. I think that in almost any other story I would have thought that some of them were just silly, but somehow, in the context of the story, they seemed perfectly plausible.

This story is filled with interesting characters that I quickly started cheering on through the many battles with werewolves, vampires, zombies and any other supposedly imaginary creature that I've ever heard of. There is an excellent balance between conflicts and personal relationships, making connections with each character come easily.

The action seems never ending, and Oliver Wyman makes the story come alive.

I am still loving this series and I really don't want it to end, however some of the stories in this book are a bit long winded.

I do enjoy hearing the ramblings that go on in the head of the main character, Michael Talbot, but a few of the "looks back" into his life felt a bit out of place and drawn out.

Nevertheless, I can't wait to move on the Book 6. Marc Tufo writes a great story and these minor criticisms don't change that.

Psychic connections to a vampire looking for vengeance, evolving zombies, and a smart-ass ex-Marine.

This series gets better and better.

As always my praise to Sean Runnette for making this book so much fun to listen to.

I am loving the twists and turns that this series takes, above and beyond the typical zombie stories. The off-beat, sometimes lame humor has become a welcome part of the story as we hear the ramblings of Michael Talbot's mind.

Michael's wife Tracy and his big friend B.T. have been added to my list of favorite characters in this series.

After listening to the first Zombie Fallout book I was already hooked. With the second book my love for this series grows.

The characters have become like old friends already and Sean Runnette continues to bring the story to life and make this a memorable and enjoyable listen.
