I enjoyed Stephen King's 11-22-63 so very, very much. I think I have been trying to replicate that listening experience with other Stephen King novels and it's not working. The plot to Duma Key looked intriguing when I read it. However, I didn't find the story compelling, nor did I find the main character very likeable. I believe true Stephen King fans would enjoy Duma Key. I think I was looking for something more.
John Slattery always does a good job.
I wanted to like this book, I really did. The overall mystery was good and I kept listening because I wanted to know the resolution. But in places it was so dark, so depressing, that I would have to stop listening for a while.
I did enjoy getting the story from the different perspectives of different characters.
There is a lot of food for thought here. The characters are compelling. I enjoy Liane Moriarty's style of writing.
Interesting story, but it tended to drag. Enjoyed the historical descriptions of this time period.
Return to my old friends in Three Pines.
Nothing. Penny is a masterful storyteller.
Inspector Gamache of course!
When Ruth gives her beloved duck to Beauvoir while sitting on the park bench in Three Pines. Incredibly moving.
Yes. I recommended this audiobook to my husband and he enjoyed it as much as I did.
The character development and the way the story goes back and forth in time, rolling out slowly.
