Have not yet been bored or disappointed by any of the Lucas Davenport series. Its like returning to old friends and you want to see how their lives have been since the last visit. Great story lines and characters (good guys not the killers!) that you wish really existed and this one is no exception. Richard Ferrone is one of my favorites. Wish he did more.
I wasn't to sure about what I was getting into when I first started listening. The story started out slow but soon Johnson pulls you into his characters. They are lifelike and likable and "Durant" Wyoming is the kind of place where you wish you lived and Walt Longmire is the kind of guy you'd want to know. The story builds slowly but you are left with the sensation that all the bases have been covered when you reach the end. I am queing up "Without Company" as we speak and am glad I have several more adventures to go with these characters. You won't be disappointed. Excellent.
Oh and by the way don't look for Durant Wyoming on the map. It's not there, neither is the county referred to.
