Here's how entrepreneurs find the next big thing-and make it huge. The era of easy money and easy jobs is officially over. Today, we're all entrepreneurs, and the tides of change threaten to capsize anyone who plays it safe. Taking risks is the name of the game - but how can you tell a smart bet from a stupid gamble? Andy Kessler offers 12 surprising and controversial rules for these radical entrepreneurs.

What did you like best about Eat People? What did you like least?

Some of the points he makes are refreshing but the rest are very narrow minded opinions none of them really backed by any truth.

Would you be willing to try another book from Andy Kessler? Why or why not?

Nope. With this book I can tell where the author stands with this world and his other book probably are the rehash of his very two dimensional point of views.

From farmer Joel Salatin's point of view, life in the 21st century just ain't normal. In Folks, This Ain't Normal, he discusses how far removed we are from the simple, sustainable joy that comes from living close to the land and the people we love.

Would you listen to Folks, This Ain't Normal again? Why?

Yes, Very informative and a lot to digest. I will listen to it 5 times more if I feel like I need to.

What about Joel Salatin’s performance did you like?

Very personable. Felt like I was being engaged in a one o one conversation.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Life changing. I don't say that often.

    Any additional comments?

It's about farming, ethics, environment, family, and harmonizing our lives with our surroundings. Life changing book for me.

  • Think and Grow Rich

Think and Grow Rich is the number-one inspirational and motivational classic for individuals who are interested in furthering their lives and reaching their goals by learning from important figures in history. The text read in this audiobook is the original 1937 edition written by Napoleon Hill and inspired by Andrew Carnegie - and while it has often been reproduced, no updated version has ever been able to compete with the original.

    Dave says: "It's a must."

What did you love best about Think and Grow Rich?

This definitely is a book that will stay with me and I will be returning to over and over again for the rest of my life!
I have read numerous self help books such asTony Robbins, The secret, you name it and I have read it. It's only after I read/listen to this book that I have realized how other self help books areoverly simplified rehashed version of this magnificent book.
Now I see truth in everything. The Bible, teachings of Buddha, Eckard tolle... I can see and understand things more clearer than ever.
I already feel change in my attitudes toward life and I am just stunned that this was written nearly a century ago. It's so open minded, progressive and eye opening. Everyone really should read it some where in their life, the sooner the better.

  • Imagine: How Creativity Works

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 2 mins)

    Story
    (550)

From the best-selling author of How We Decide comes a sparkling and revelatory look at the new science of creativity. Shattering the myth of muses, higher powers, even creative “types”, Jonah Lehrer demonstrates that creativity is not a single gift possessed by the lucky few. It’s a variety of distinct thought processes that we can all learn to use more effectively. Lehrer reveals the importance of embracing the rut, thinking like a child, daydreaming productively, and adopting an outsider’s perspective.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I had to stop about half way. It's pretty much a rehash of "Element" and "Out of Minds" which I personally thought was better researched and more witty.

What aspect of Jonah Lehrer’s performance would you have changed?

His reading sounded more like a boring lecture. Not what I expected from the title and his interview.

Was Imagine worth the listening time?

    Can't say so.
