Lady Georgiana Rannoch has once again been called into service by Her Majesty the Queen. This time she's sent to Nice on a secret assignment that's nothing to sneeze at: recover the Queen's stolen snuff box. As much of an honor as it is to be trusted by Her Majesty, an even greater honor awaits Georgie in Nice - as Coco Chanel herself asks Georgie to model her latest fashion. But when a necklace belonging to the Queen is stolen on the catwalk, Georgie has to find two priceless items-and solve a murder. How's a girl to find any time to go to the casino?

Read these in order if you can. Just started with the first in the series and read straight through them all!! The stories are great and the reader is one if the best. Her ability to use different accents and voices really makes the stories come to life.

Most who have sampled La Petite Brioche's flaky, aromatic croissants that melt in your mouth like buttery ice cream and - sorry, just let me wipe these crumbs from my - where was I? - right: anyone who has eaten at La Petite Brioche Patisserie and Café will tell you that their croissants are to die for; but when one young woman takes it quite literally, bakery owner Jenna Dubois must uncover who exactly has dared to commit crime by croissant, and save her bakery's reputation in the process.

A well imagined world populated by interesting characters, reflective of the world we live in, but very different. I enjoyed it tremendously and would have liked to have had the final years in the wild fleshed out more.

Larry Virgil skipped out on his latest court date after he was arrested for hijacking an eighteen-wheeler full of premium bourbon. Fortunately for bounty hunter Stephanie Plum, Larry is just stupid enough to attempt almost the exact same crime again. Only this time he flees the scene, leaving behind a freezer truck loaded with Bogart ice cream and a dead body—frozen solid and covered in chocolate and chopped pecans.

I normally love this series but after 23 books it's time for Lula to start to develop some character instead of remaining a caricature. Her lack of depth is annoying and a distraction from the story line, such as it was. Sadly, that hasn't changed much either. It might be time for all the characters to do some maturing.

For Aoife Dakar, seeing is believing - and she's seen some extraordinary things. It's too bad no one else believes that she witnessed a supernatural murder at an outdoor fair. Returning to the scene for proof, Aoife encounters a wise-cracking demon dog - and a gloriously naked man who can shift into a dragon and kiss like a god. Now thrust into a fantastical world that's both exhilarating and terrifying, Aoife is about to learn just how hot a dragon's fire burns.

These books are great light reading but the sex scenes get tedious, they are kind of pedantic and boring, so I just fast forward thru them. As long as you're looking for marshmallow fluff and not an entire s'more, you will enjoy the whole series.

Chicago wizard-for-hire Harry Dresden is used to mysterious clients with long hair and legs up to here. Strength of a River in His Shoulders is one of the legendary forest people, a bigfoot, and he has a problem that only Harry can solve. His son, Irwin, is a scion, the child of a supernatural creature and a human.

Love this series. Jim Butcher spins an enthralling tale. This group of short stories fits in to the Dresden Files series, but can stand alone. However, if you haven't read any of the Dresden Files books, I highly recommend getting book one, and starting. Plan on a lot of late nights up reading. I thought that Butchers books weren't going to be a lot of fun to read, normally I stick to romance and light sci-fi, and resisted for years. But I'm one of those people that can't be without a book to read, so in the midst of a dry spell of new titles, I said to myself - all of people reviewing them can't be wrong - and picked up the first book. I went through the whole series in a month and now I just wait for the next one. Sometimes they're too violent for my taste, and sometimes there's not enough romance, but somehow they hooked me. Fair warning.

I have enjoyed this series. The previous narrator was perfect for these books, but the new narrator is way too harsh and sounds much too old to be the heroine. It's a shame since it takes away from the book.

Somehow the author makes you think that her theories of time, space, and magic make perfect sense, and you even start to think you understand them while you are reading them. She creates a new reality in this series that is fascinating and engaging. Every time I finish one book, I start waiting for the next.

I love this series and am so sad that this is the last book. I have enjoyed it since the beginning and love the way each small piece has woven together throughout it. The focus is all on the story and each book contains parts of it. If you love a well crafted tale, start from book one of the retrevial artist series and work your way through. Great narration as well. I just hope that there are more tales in this series waiting to be told and that they make it into print someday.

The classic tale of passion on the high seas, available for the first time in 20 years... Merry Wilding is a lady of breeding, of innocence, and of breathtaking beauty. With high hopes for a holiday in England, she sets sail from New York - but the tide of her life is destined to turn. Mistakenly swept aboard an infamous pirate ship, Merry finds herself at the mercy of a wicked crew...and one sinfully handsome pirate. Soon she's spending her days yearning for escape, and her nights learning the pleasures of captivity.

I expect better from a veteran author like this, both in terms of writing and plot. The heroine and her friend think they are in danger and need to leave their house at once, so instead of leaving, they decide to drink themselves into a stupor because they don't want waste a couple of bottles of wine! Who does that?? Ridiculous.
