I thought I had heard some good narrators before. Roy Dotrice out does them all, really takes it to a new level. Well done.

Be warned this book is different from most others in that there are no happy endings - for anyone. But that what makes it so compelling I suppose.

Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

Really like the narrator. Surprisingly good. Story was actually kinda mediocre for one of King's books, but one the whole not bad. Plot line didn't have the depth of most of his other work.

I was expecting something with a similar tone as the Mistborn series, but this is more like The Beyonders if you know that series. It's a decent book in its own right, but this one has more of a comedic super hero tone. Not what I was expecting from Sanderson.
