I have a long daily commute, and I listen to a lot of audio books. I got tired of re-listening to Stephen King books, and have been trying to expand my list of authors. Not generally much for the scifi genre, but this combination of story and narrator hit it just right for me. I just downloaded the third book in this series, and will be disappointed when it's over.

The plot moves along and develops a bit more, but this is really just the same as the last book with a different setting. Not necessarily a bad thing, as I liked the other books a good bit.

Meanwhile, the governments of Earth want to steal Star Force's Nano technology for their own. Worst of all, Earth has made a promise to the Macros, and the machines are coming to collect.

I'm not a huge fan of military sci-fi, but this one has some pretty nice twists on the standard pattern. For the most part the characters are likeable and the plot is interesting.

I was a huge fan of the first two books, and was worried that the series might die at that point, or perhaps become only a trilogy. This one moves a bit slower than the other two, but develops the plot and characters quite a bit more, and opens the door for many more books to come. Very pleased. This is one of my favorite series.

This was a good follow up - the story developed some more depth, and got more interesting. Good listen. Fantastic narration. The nice thing about the narration is that it is done in such a way as to keep the focus on the story, and not the narrator's voice, but with a wide variety of voices that fit the characters.

After 12 years of secret training, Atticus O’Sullivan is finally ready to bind his apprentice, Granuaile, to the earth and double the number of Druids in the world. But on the eve of the ritual, the world that thought he was dead abruptly discovers that he’s still alive, and they would much rather he return to the grave. Having no other choice, Atticus, his trusted Irish wolfhound, Oberon, and Granuaile travel to the base of Mount Olympus, where the Roman god Bacchus is anxious to take his sworn revenge - but he’ll have to get in line behind an ancient vampire, a band of dark elves, and an old god of mischief.

I waited anxiously for this book. This has been one of my favorite series. The lighthearted and funny demeanor combined with great like-able characters and superb narration more than compensated for the simple plot lines. Overall (up til now) its been great fun listening to this series.

With this book, the great characters (most of them) are gone, and dozens of new characters with unpronounceable names are hurriedly introduced, and they immediately begin trying to lay the ground work for a complex back story by telling lengthy stories about more characters with unpronounceable names in places with unpronounceable names.....all of this being narrated in the same manner as the previous stories, which just doesn't work.

Bottom line: I turned it off after a couple of hours. I would prefer to remember Atticus and Oberon as they were before. Bummer.
