A marriage of convenience…and intoxicating desire. He would show her every shade of love. The last thing sawmill owner Kyle Grayson wants is a marriage of convenience, but a stroke of rotten luck leads him straight to the altar with his competitor's daughter, Amelia. Burdened by guilt over his part in her father's death and an intoxicating desire for his new wife, Kyle doesn't think things can get worse - until his beautiful bride refuses to consummate their vows.

Great book, but the end of Chapter 23 (in the written list on my iPod it says Chapter 24 but the narrator states that it is 23, which is something else I wish someone would fix!) is missing and it must be the part where they finally get things moving or tell each other something about their past!

Adele Bishop stares in disbelief as the tall, imposing figure of Reno Gold steps off the train. Her mail-order husband is no stranger, but the man who gave her a delicious taste of his wild streak years ago - when she was too young to know how to handle him. Now he’s here, foiling her plan to turn the tables on the men of Whistle Stop, who order their brides as if they were commodities. Adele has no thought of following through on marriage, and every intention of sending the devilishly irritating Reno on his drifting way.

Just seemed to me to slow and lack of communication between to two main characters. I never could get over the fact that Reno showed up drunk for their first meeting and then they both just kept doing crazy stuff without any reason!

The Clayborne brothers were a rough gang of street urchins - until they found an abandoned baby girl in a New York City alley, named her Mary Rose, and headed to Blue Belle, Montana, to raise her to be a lady. They became a family - held together by loyalty and love, if not blood - when suddenly a stranger threatened to tear them apart.

Over half way through this book and it is not going anywhere....This could really be a good story plot but it just isn't going anywhere!!
I don't feel connected with the characters, I don't feel anything for the narrator or his voices of the characters, especially when he goes from a Scottish brogue to an Irish brogue for Harrison's voice.

What did you love best about Shades of Honor?

Everything! At first I wondered if I was just having a mellow and melancholy day when I laughed and cried while listening to this story! Then after listening to the other books of this series I realized that it wasn't just the day I was having, but the story, author and wonderful narrator I was listening to that made me love this series!

What did you like best about this story?

How their family values are so much in the fore front of every book in this series. Amazing values, sense of caring and loving. Many family values are that now gone from our society in how to raise and give care to the children we love. This series make me almost jealous of the women in these mens lives, to find such a manly man would be amazing.

Which character – as performed by Julia Motyka – was your favorite?

She narrated them all so wonderfully! Men's were a little feminine but with the knowledge that they were loving, caring, giving men it was all good!

    Any additional comments?

Not any hot and steamy sex scenes (which I don't mind, but) just wonderful stories about passion, life, family and love.
I am on the 5th book in 3 days, I love Wendy and I have never heard of her before!

What would have made In the Garden of Temptation better?

I am sorry that I bought this book based on the 3 raving reviews! I liked the premise of the story and where the author could have taken the characters and their lives.I didn't feel there were any development of the characters nor any real grit to why they did the things they did.Maybe I am needy or I like more of a story and character interactions, details, background info....something, anything...There were so many times while listening to this book I actually spoke out loud and said "You've Got to be Kidding Me!!!" whether it was from the lame phrases spoken from Adam to Catherine, Adam to his mother or Adam to his best friend or Catherine's brother (who hadn't seen his sister in 7 years) to Adam about how Catherine has suffered enough when he didn't have a clue about what had been happening to her!! I felt this whole book was a waste of my time I even choose to listen to my car radio on my drive to town instead of the book!!

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

There were no interesting aspects in this story, every part of it was just so glossed over in details, I felt is was rushed! Meaning you are just drug along through the story and at times I had to even replay parts because it just skips through days, months and years events without making it clear.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Helen Lloyd?

I don't like to speak ill of any narrator but I just wish Helen would have just tried to use a little bit of change in her voice so you could tell whether it was a man or a woman speaking....
Oh and I had to go and read the Catherine's Bourgeault last name in the Info. because when read, it sounded simply like "BoGo" I would assume there has to be a slight "r" sound.

Ripped from her dying mother's arms, Morgana Fowler was cast into a life of desperate thievery. In the arms of her gallant protector, she is helpless against the longing he elicits within her.

Would you consider the audio edition of Whisper To Me of Love to be better than the print version?

Don't know, I love audible books!

What did you like best about this story?

    The whole story was great!

What does Caroline Kinsolving bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Well it was interesting and I wouldn't have accentuated certain sentences the way she did but whatever she was interesting enough.

Sometimes the only way to love - and redemption - is to make a deal with the devil. After the death of her parents, Lady Aurora de Marquise is left with no illusions. Stripped of her birthright and betrayed by her uncle, escape is her only option. With her life on the line, she narrowly avoids another murder attempt - only to run headlong into Lord Brigham de Mornay, a man most consider a monster. With her uncle's henchmen nipping at her heels, Aurora knows better than to trust a stranger - especially one as compelling as Brigham.

The story was nice enough. The narrator was stilled and paused WAY too much in the beginning 9-13 chapters but then it was like she finally got into the story and read/acted it out better.

A rough California gold camp seems an unlikely place for two lonely people, running from their pasts, to meet. But Sam Ransom watches as the lovely Zenobia Gray takes a ladle to a roughhousing miner, delivers a baby, and comforts a bereaved man...and he decides that, while she might be a bit prudish, she's worth getting to know. When Zenobia first sets eyes on Sam, though, she's sure a man this handsome is too dangerous for her broken heart. They're both right. And they're both wrong. They're going to discover more in each other than they bargained for, along with something else - enduring love.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Wasted time spent as the narrator reads it like a newspaper clipping or article and his female voices were horrible. Does he know what a period.........means?

What didn’t you like about Jim Hull’s performance?

Talk about run, run, run on sentences. Hard to listen to Jim Hull narration and his run on voice without any feeling or emotion for the characters in the book.
