Like most people left behind on an over-populated Earth, police detective Elijah Baley has little love for either the arrogant Spacers or their robotic companions. But when a prominent Spacer is murdered under mysterious circumstances, Baley is ordered to the Outer Worlds to help track down the killer. Then he learns that he has been assigned a partner: R. Daneel Olivaw. Worse, the R stands for "robot" - and his positronic partner is made in the image and likeness of the murder victim!

    Dionne says: "perfectly executed!"
"Good story that still holds up and is told well."

What made the experience of listening to The Caves of Steel the most enjoyable?

I've read this story before in hardcover many years ago and enjoyed it then. It was even better the second time around.

What other book might you compare The Caves of Steel to and why?

I, Robot and Robots of Dawn right inline with this story and its concepts about robots.

What does William Dufris bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator did a wonderful job with all of the characters and brought the story to life in a way I never could by reading the book myself years ago.
