no, reader is too bad
never, he was terrible
Great book and storyline ruined by the reader, makes them sound like cartoonish weasels from "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"
Awesome true events
The moment I decided to delete it, sorry, can't listen to the horrible voice reading this wonderful text
He is horrible, his fake Southern accent is so bad I couldn't finish it. Willl buy and read from Amazon
Buy the printed copy and read it, dont bother with the audio
Angry teenage girls
Repetitive, repetitive, repetitive repetition of repetitive repetitions
Most after the 1st hour
The first book was entertaining, a weaving story with varying plots and turns. This one seems like it is on "rinse-repeat" mode. The spend the whole book fighting the same people over and over, with the same issues over and over. Gets tiring, can complete it.
Vinnie is a very enjoyable reader, and added a few stories to the audible book
This book has been an eye opener, a real change that is simple to follow and simple to verify as real and scientific. Amazing
This book is a must for any engineer out there, specially if you are a mechanical engineer and like to work with your hands, you can relate well to the way of thinking of the main character - would highly recommend.
turning it off
His characters are absolutely horrendous. Had to turn this off after a few hours. I tried to listen, but the voices he makes make it impossible to listen.
No, only the first 2 1/2 hours where worth listening to.
The David and Goliath analogies in the first part of the book are very insightful
No, too boring
I read NYTimes reviews of the book after being done with it, and those reviews were, for once, dead on for me. Great insight in the first 1/3 of the book information that can be useful for business logic and thinking. After that the book is very very repetitive and gets too dark for me. I would not recommend, one of Gladwell's worst work, and I like all his other books.
The storyline follows pre-war through post war events, incredible but true events. Not as much of the exploits of the flyers during the war, very little compare to the rest of the book. The only bad part is the reading, is dry and monotonic. Could have been a lot better.
The stories traverse various times along the history of the SF group, and is told from their perspective.
The Green Berets
Need someone to learn to read the military info, its very confusing when he reads verbatim and not translates like a reader would. This is the same for all abbreviations. For example "cee pee tee Jones" because he reads CPT Jones should be read Captain Jones. Every rank, unit, etc is read the same way. Can ruin the read.
The story continues, that makes the book great. But the narrating is 1/2 speed, the only way to listen to the book is at 2x speed. Gets distorted at times, but sounds almost normal. The narrator, like many of Griffin narrators, try to pronounce Spanish and end up butchering it, which sounds kind of funny. But it is almost impossible to listen to this book without speeding it up
