Dubbed the American Tolkien by Time magazine, George R. R. Martin has earned international acclaim for his monumental cycle of epic fantasy. Now the number-one New York Times best-selling author delivers the fifth book in his spellbinding landmark series - as both familiar faces and surprising new forces vie for a foothold in a fragmented empire.

I previously PRAISED Roy Dotrice's performance of the books in this series. I struggled through the defeating sludge of uninspired data that made up most of A Feast For Crows, just to get back to the story- and BACK TO ROY DOTRICE. What a catastrophe. How can an actor of his magnitude think that a fourteen year old beautiful willful queen should sound like a lowborn troll? This is not the Denaris Stormborn of three books past. WHAT HAPPENED ROY? Unfortunately, the narrator's reading of the female voices so vital to this story have made this book IRRITATING rather than pleasurable to listen to. What a way to kill what once was a such a good thing. Women should not sound like old men. Wassup Random House?????? Is nobody listening?

Jodi Picoult's poignant number one New York Times best-selling novels about family and love tackle hot-button issues head on. In The Storyteller, Sage Singer befriends Josef Weber, a beloved Little League coach and retired teacher. But then Josef asks Sage for a favor she never could have imagined - to kill him. After Josef reveals the heinous act he committed, Sage feels he may deserve that fate. But would his death be murder or justice?

Suzn F says: "The Baker, The Nun, The Virgin and The Monster"
"The finest Picoult yet. Brilliantly written."

I discovered Jodi Picoult though this novel, and was impressed enough to move backward through her enormous body of work, reading every one. Some were wonderful, others tedious, but THE STORYTELLER stands out as Picoult's finest work to date. It seems as though the multi-character narrative Picoult has used in most of her novels, finds its perfection in this one. Storylines, histories, and emotional arcs weave seamlessly herein. The reader always has a front row seat, witnessing with rapt clarity as this multi-layered story unfolds. Bravo Jodi! What's next?

New York Times best-selling author Jodi Picoult is widely acclaimed for her keen insights into the hearts and minds of real people. Now she tells the emotionally riveting story of a family torn apart by conflicting needs and a passionate love that triumphs over human weakness.

Jodi Picoult has proven that she is a master at unearthing a powerful, moving story no matter what the subject matter. She has become my go- to author when I need complex, emotion filled human drama ( outside of my own house!). MY SISTERS KEEPER has great characters, a great storyline, wonderful readers, and an ending that kicked me right in the gut. Five stars all around.
