"Fabulous! AND interesting"
I really didn't know what this would be about when I
got it. I was very pleasantly surprized. It comprises about nine facinating short stories about women from different walks of life in different situations. Very, very good and I was so sorry to hear the story end. Great "chick lit".
"Too boring!"
Crais was noted as a top writer of crime mysteries, but really he is not in my opinion. This is kind of like a beginners mystery. It's boring and just goes on and on. Now I did get this because I listened to the preview of his new novel on Audible and it sounded really good.
"So - so"
I agree with the other reviewer on this book. It could have been good, but I just couldn't understand
what was going on in the story, due to the narration. It was entirely jumbled and in the audio, there was no differention in the characters, so you couldn't tell who was who. Moral of this one- save your money, get something else.
"So Boring!"
If you have insomnia, you might want to listen to this audio book. I love the series, but this one is oh so boring and not romantic at all, even though
Kinsey gets involved all of a sudden with this police officer. Let's see- too much description of scenery, too much plot with neighbor Henry, which quite frankly- Henry is not that interesting of a character to me. Save your money and get something else.
"Fabulous book!!!"
I can't say enough great things about this book!! I loved it from start to finish, not a boring part in it. That is a rariety among today's writers. An intelligent mystery.
"WOW WOW WOW"
Incredible story and so, so romantic!! Very interesting history to listen to about how people lived back then. That Jamie is so great to listen to when he whispers in a husky voice to his beloved various romantic sentiments. Among the most romantic sentiments I have ever heard in a book or in real life. I won't go into the plot line here, you can read about the plot line on other reviews. A MUST LISTEN TO if you like or lack romance in your life! Gee, I wish my husband would talk to me like that!
"A very boring story!!!"
This story is unbelivably boring. It is also very
"formula" written. What I mean by formula is the author has taken what is an already overwritten about story line- The President is kidnapped by terriorists- and the Navy seal/Presidents secret service person has to find out who is behind it. What mazkes this story line in other authors entertaining is the high tech missions, sex and or romance in this type of novel. This noval has none of the above ingredients, which make for a terribly uninteresting story. I could hardly get through the first half of this book. Don't waste your money or credits on this book. If you really want to listen to it- check it out at the library.
The author could have done a much better job writting this if he put just a little effort into it. Apparently, he doesn't care about his reading public!
"A"
I will warn you, this mystery does center around
"furries" which I didn't know what they are. I do now however! No furries in my mysteries please. The narrator is excellent, really really good. My advise, would be to go to google and look up what furries are. I am not going to tell you here. If it doesn't disgust you- then hear the book. Nice and escapist up to the furrie point.
"Buyer beware!"
In regards to the audio version of this story, I don't know how much better it would have been if there was a different narrator. Elliot Gould is simply one of the worst narrators I have ever heard, and I listen to 60 plus audio books a year. I wonder if the author even listened to the recording? Was Mr. Gould related to the author?
It is just awful. And there is too much pause between chapters. I wondered if Mr. Gould had passed out. Mr. March, the detective is a bland guy and his brother most hateful towards him. I got the audio because it was recommended by the July issue of the magazine, The Economist. Oh well. I wish these authors would write better stories, truly I do!Some of the current books on the best seller list are terrible as well!
"Don't waste your money!"
This is one of the worst audio books I have ever listened to. The narrater has a terrible voice and
you can never figure out who's saying what the narration is so bad. The plot is choppy also. I wonder where the editor was when they listened to the final cut of this? Do not get!
